Uh I'd expense it 4 hours of travel from the office = out of town.
Ask for forgiveness, not permission.
I mean an inventory count that is going to take all of 4 hours isn’t worth you charging through a lunch when you’ll technically still be within an 8 hour working day. Learn to pack, it costs less.
Yes
Yup. Sounds correct.
Yeah, fortunately EY would not let me expense lunch when I was on a client 2+ hours away but the mileage money was great so I didn’t really mind
No
Next time don’t ask if you can 😉 good thing you have a paycheck to buy lunch now
What do you have to be there in the morning? PwC used to have a policy where if you have to leave by 6 or 6:30, you can get a room.
Are we seriously talking about a $10 lunch? What’s your materiality? Come on, guys.
No, you can’t expense lunch because now they’ll be looking for it. On the other hand, you do have four hours worth of mileage to play with. Just saying...
2 hours really isn’t that far just for one day
AM1 I wouldn't get in the habit of breaking expense policy, esp as a manager, as you mention its not really worth it for 10 bucks. That said people expense this plenty of times so its more between you and your team.
I heard EY wasn’t allowed to expense lunch anyways? Or is this not true?
