I only invest in the market. Picking stocks is basically gambling - alpha goes both ways.

I read the 10k and also look at the multiples. I also look at the industry and do a little reading and research to how they’ll fair this year and where they’re poised to go next 3-5 years. Finally I look at he management team and make an assessment. In my younger days I did dcf’s but too many assumptions that I’m not qualified to answer for these industries so I’ll defer to the analysts and try and read through the lines to glean anything from it. I’ve missed some hot items with my diligence and the timing it takes, but likely avoided some dogs.
Always do analysis and comparisons especially on the stocks, but also with funds!
It depends on your goals. Sometimes I look for Low volatility, performance against sp500/ other index, etc
I look at the 20 year returns and let it rip
Just listen to CNBC and see how many folks agree on a certain stock. By then it’s probably to late but can most likely catch another 20% to the upside.
