I absolutely love my hand held travel steamer, are you steaming from inside the shirt and slowly pulling towards you? I bring my travel one on every trip I take and it always works well.
What brand?
I try to buy fabric that don’t wrinkle easily. But still whatever ironing I need to do- I try and doit once every week (maybe an hour). While I am at it- I try and play something fun on the background for me to watch - maybe Golden Girls or something. That way, it seems less of a chore. Lol. As much as I hate ironing, I do like the look of a freshly ironed, neatly arranged wardrobe. And oh yeah- I do own a steamer. I barely use it though. It comes handy for those extra wrinkly shirts. Mine is too small though- so I need to fill it up frequently. Just something to keep in mind if you’re planning to get one.

Not all steamers are created equal. I recommend the connaire travel one
There is some wrinkle release spray (by Downey maybe?) that is supposed to work miracles
When they are still hot from the dryer I fold them flat. They stay crisp.
I gave up a long time ago, decided it wasn’t worth my time, and have been sending my shirts out for years. Hang immediately upon arrival when traveling. Properly folded shirts in your luggage will only require a quick touch up, if anything.
