I think it won’t be for the deadline on Monday. Maybe for April but. Meh. Doesn’t change anything for us. Still gotta work.

Yeah I figure no way in heck for Monday. I got my last 3/15 extension done this evening already anyways. I am hoping no extension - I would much rather have the hard stop of 4/15 and then follow with my leisurely summer of moving through stuff a little at a time.

You’re dreaming.

As someone who does his tax return in early February and waits until the absolute last minute to mail the additional taxes check...I fully support an extension!

like

I think it goes through in the next week. April 15th deadline auto extension, no late penalties or interest due. All companies including IRS likely to be working from home in the next few weeks

Too legit to quit. Retroactive penalty abatement people.

Do you think they'll extend the 2019 IRA contribution too? 😁

Doesn’t matter, if states don’t extend, you still have to file on time, unless the client is ok with state penalties.

Hope all states follow suit! Then yay extended tax season.

I developed a social media addiction since the first COVID lockdowns. I’m literally spending my evenings on social media. See, I’m even posting on social media now. How do you deal with that? I’m considering spending a full weekend in the countryside without my phone. I realized this when one of my friends asked smth like “but what do you do afterwork”. And I though about it and I was like.. social media. That’s sad honestly

How do you deal with family in India believing and spreading every false rumor/forwarded message on WhatsApp? I stopped correcting them a few years ago when I realized it was bad for my relationship with them, but the forwards nowadays especially related to Covid is outright dangerous (and obviously false when read by an educated person). Very worried about this

What are the signs that your marriage is over? None of us cheated but lately we both are very distant from each other. Sex is off. Nearly no intimacy. Every weekend we meet our friends have fun and that’s it. I don’t remember when is the last time we went on a trip as a couple (even before covid) I keep planning but don’t see any inputs from him. We don’t go on dates or dinner alone, its always with friends. When I see my other couple friends I feel we are not there anymore 😔

Met this guy 4 weeks ago. He lives 4 hours away and has already been down to see me twice and stayed at the hotel for 2 nights each time. Pays for every date even though I offer to pay. He is awesome and I really like him! However, he was traveling for work last week so our communication went from checking in everyday to one 15 min call middle of the week. He joined this job during COVID so first time meeting his team.. he said they were out past 1am every night. Ummm? (Contd)

Question for EY moms - my husband and I are thinking about starting a family soon, so I was looking up the parental leave policy to see what my options are. I know some firms have clawback clauses that require you to come back to work for a specific period of time or else you have to pay back the salary you received while on leave, but I couldn’t find anything similar in the EY policy. Does this mean EY doesn’t have a clawback clause for parental leave, or is it just hidden away somewhere? TIA!

New auditor here, I see most auditors get booked for 10- 12 hours on engagements during busy season. But heard everyone’s working 65 hours to 100 hours a week during that time. Does that mean almost everyone is eating their hours in big four and midsize firms ? If you’re assigned for 12 hours daily, Monday to Friday, but actually working 15 hours and weekends, do you book 12 hours Monday to Friday ? Or the actual hours you worked including weekends ?

I’m trying to make the jump from agency > platform (not FB…more like Spotify or Twitter etc.). I work with reps at these places as part of my job, but technically their loyalty is to my clients (the ones spending $ on their platform), not to me, working at the client’s creative agency. So it feels weird asking them for a recommendation or referral, but that would obviously be easier than applying on the jobs site... How do I utilize my “network” without making things awkward?

Can someone please help me on how I can negotiate a higher salary, when a large component of my total compensation is linked to variable pay. I have cleared the final rounds of interview with a company, where the variable component is almost negligible and they're only willing to give a raise over my fixed compensation. PS The variable pay last year at my current firm was impacted due to onset of covid. :(
