I was recently promoted to be a senior and I’m on this project with an acting senior and associates. The acting senior would tell everyone, including me, what to do everyday before I get the chance to. I feel like he is stepping into my boundaries. Why have unions become so powerless in recent years? A decade ago, the collective bargaining units would get wage increases that matched or exceeded inflationary growth. Now we are lucky to see any positive integer offered.

Realistically, if they are merely securing my job for $100/month they are not providing value! I can protect my own job, AND pay for a decent retirement with that money saved.
