Got an offer for Electronic Arts (EA) Manager for North America (Canada) remote for 100k base CAD, 15 percent bonus and around low 40ks RSU (assuming it's USD). How much higher can the base be in Canada for EA for a Manager role? Base seems low even at 110 CAD. It's a corporate role so not anything technical or product related. Most or all the more senior managers are in the USA. Electronic Arts (EA)

Any in-house counsel in here willing to post their company, level or YOE, and total comp breakdown? If you’re comfortable, please consider posting both your current stats and what your stats were when you first moved in-house. If there’s any other information that you want to share, please include that too (e.g., hours, interesting perks, etc.). Info on in-house salaries is pretty hard to come by, and it would be great to compile some data points here! Facebook Amazon Google Netflix Apple
Any suggestions on a good car detailer?

Honestly, just ask ur girl what she likes. If she's reasonable she won't break your bank. Also, who's paying for the wedding? If she is I'd recommend getting a nice ring (around 12-25k, like GS1 said). Also take her profession into consideration... Does she earn a lot? Will you have joint accounts and pay bills/mortgage/etc jointly? Will it upgrade your life to have that second income? If so, don't be cheap. A CZ shouldn't even be an option unless you both fall into low income categories, which I'm sure you don't, or if she prefers a CZ.
Also depends on how much you spend on yourself... If you buy expensive watches/suits/whatever the kids are crazy about these day, your gf will expect an expensive ring ($10-15k is reasonable).
I feel like 12-25k is a good range if you're at the senior analyst/associate pay grade
You can get a custom ring for $3k+. Don't spend that much...
^^ Whatever you do, DO NOT buy a cubic zirconia!! That's like purchasing a knock-off designer bag from the street corner -- everyone will know and you'll look cheap. Just purchase a lower grade diamond and go with a silver band.
No. The only reason there is the 3 month "rule" is that years ago if the engagement was broken off the woman would have 3 months money to go off and set up a new life.
3 days pay
Listen to GS2, GS1 is in a dream world
GS2 is right you can get one for 3k, custom with cubic z and a rare shiny aluminum band. From a woman's POV, I'd suggest you keep 3 rules of thumbs in mind when you decide:1) can you afford it 2) is the amount reasonable/ prudent for you at this time 3) what are the expectations you and your SO have ( associate1 hit on a good example). Keep in mind at the end of the day, if the woman truly loves you and wants to share her life with you, she will not want you to the break your bank. Also, the two of you can upgrade the rock when you reach GS1 man status.
If you get your jewelry custom made you get a lot more for your money. When all these store publish their massive deals on jewelry they're still making a good profit(source: family is in the diamond business), that 80% discount they claim is so misleading. What Macy's usually sells for around 3k on sale which they reduced from 8-9k actually has only 1k of raw material on it. For that price I could take a trip to India, get the jewelry made there while I holiday at 5* hotels and still end up paying less than what it would've cost here.
Excellent advice GS4. #sayno2cz
It only depends on how much you think she will care about the perceived value of the ring. That's how much you spend.
That's a judgement call you gotta make, and also depends how materialistic the girl is, will she just be happy with the fact she is getting engaged, or does she just want to be able to show everyone an expensive ring. No set rule.
In NYC, 3 mos. rent
Dude, enormous gestures of wealth are pretty meaningless. Why bother spending thousands of dollars on a ring? Ask her what she wants or find out what her favourite gemstone is- just diamonds are cliché and she might prefer to have a ring that also contains a different colour. Why would she want a ring worth ten thousand dollars when she could have a ring worth one thousand dollars and nine thousand dollars worth of clothes, holidays, good food and services that mean she doesn't have to feel like a housewife?
Right so what is acceptable these days
Fair point ^^^^^^
Get a ring from Amazon, only 10 bucks. She can't say no to that.
Why bother!!! By the time to marry you she wont even want to marry you and according to statistic, if you do get marry it will last shorter than the time it took you to figure this out. Save yourself some 💵💵. 🤔🔫
