Am I being under paid? I have been working for a SaaS company for the last 6 months As a Director of sales and I am making 130k annually plus bonus. I am responsible for building/starting and managing 4 different departments; Partner program, customer success, inbound/outbound sales and marketing. This includes building strategies, managing day to day, managing a sales team, build out marketing plans, and also producing my own outbound sales, yadda, yadda, yadda.
Yeah, it’s a good salary to live with roommates.
$45000 living by yourself? Yeah, it’s doable of you want to work until you’re 90. Some of us plan for the long term and put money away.
You’ll be fine. I also moved here at the same salary back in 2021. Just don’t move to one of the expense areas and you’ll have tons of spending money. I moved here to baker with a roommate (we each paid 900) and I lived comfortably. Once I started making a lot more in the last 1.5 years I moved to somewhere a lot nicer
I will be a transplant from over a thousand miles away, wasn’t really planning on rooming with anyone, however, would you mind filling me in on some of the cheaper areas?
I started at 60k here and lived alone. This isn’t SF/NYC people survive on less here.
When I moved here I made $77k and was paying $1400 per month for rent/utilities all inclusive and it was fine. Then I moved to a place that become more like $2k per month and that was a stretch.
In baker and I had a roommate, now I live in lodo alone
An underrated component of living in a city like Denver is the lack of good public transit. So you should plan on having a car, and all the costs associated.
If you have an offer in a city where you could get away without a car, I’d say start your career there. You’ll be paying a lot less to get around.
My son has used roomies.com several times to find roommates.
Thanks for the link I’ll check it out!
There is an old saying in Denver, “look at the mountains they are 20% of yiur salary.” People want to live in Denver and they will take lower salaries to do it. If you want to live in Denver enough, I am sure you can make 76k work.
You might have to get out of public accounting, so yiu have some free time to enjoy the hills.
It’s denver, how much could it cost?
Love this meme 😆
Should be able to get a studio for around $1300 in Denver. If you need something bigger, move to the suburbs but if you need to commute take into account transportation costs and availability
Check out studios in the Glendale area. Lots to do in the area and commute to dtc won’t be horrible
If you have roommates then it’s totally doable! Or a small studio.
There’s a lot of jobs in DTC but personally I wouldn’t live there again (I used to), my social life activities are all closer to downtown.
Cornerstone apartments is going to have a lot of studios & 1 bedrooms in a really good price range ($1000-$1300)! I had a 1 bed with cornerstone in wash park west when I was making ~$65K working downtown & it was very doable. Road my bike to work!
If you want a super nice apt building with the pool, gym, etc then you would want roommates.
I would say the Highlands, RiNo, Wash Park West, Baker, City Park West, Jefferson Park are all young, walkable neighborhood with plenty of bars, restaurants, etc. Not sure of your gender but Cap Hill & Uptown just don’t feel safe for walking around as a female (a lot of homeless).
I had same salary when I moved here in 2019. I used furnished finder as didn’t want to move all my stuff. Paid 1500 all in for 1 bedroom in baker. Definitely would check out the website. Caters to travel nurses ~3 months but you could stay longer if you’d like. You’d be able to find where you would like to live more long term and adjust rent price based on after living here
So live there for three months while touring other places?
