That’s not even matching inflation; to me it’s the equivalent of a pay cut

Yes

Jesus....... they want you out LOL

I know they’d never do it but I wish firms were transparent about pay and pay bands

Even without a promotion?

If you are paid above the target for your role and level, 1% is not bad. If you are below, then it implies others were prioritized over you. I would ask the person who notified you and say “this seems low and I’m wondering why"

I’m in the same boat but just over my one year. It feels weak bc they clearly valued me lower. Considering I’ve been working so much uncompensated over time it really hurts

like

I was taught that 3% is the standard rule of thumb

like

Inflation running 2.1%, YoY wage inflation at 3%.

Yes, even without promotion. You should at least keep up with inflation

Does anyone know what inflation was this year?

Pull the chord on your parachute

It’s not good

I got 0%..

OP - it likely just means that your comp has been ahead of your peer group. If it was zero there’s a chance you got a bad rating. Sorry A6.

Doesnt even cover inflation

Is it common for Big 4 to hire from ordinary colleges? I’m genuinely curious since not a single partner that I’ve known comes from a Ivy League and almost all of them have a single degree. Culturally this is slightly odd for me since I come from a place where u needed to have pretty strong credentials to get hired and people at the top had them too, if not better. Wondering if this is just skewed view due to the practices I’m exposed to or is actually common in the big 4?
