If AFS, worth doing for Even 5% imho. If commercial to fed bah...why? Guess it’d be cool to get paid more to work way less or if you just have an interest in working with the govt

like

Meh nah. 25+%

Fed?

A1-yeah

Yes if you are in AFS, no if you aren’t

Is there any other reason you would want to join BAH other than the salary increase?

Oh they pay $5k tuition reimbursement but idk about servitude afterwards. Feeel like that's trapping me

Then no

Not worth it, too low of a bump

B1-fed to fed

Go for if that’s the only way to get a decent increase.

Don't bother, the raises there are crap. And the tuition reimbursement has like a 2 year payback period. Think of it as a loan at best.

What’s AFS’s tuition reimbursement and raises like?^

Also, I pay loans and it definitely isn’t a loan “at best” lol. I’ve used the $ for Georgetown grad certs and gmat prep classes and i just got a crap load of points and have resume boosters now.

Tuition reimbursement is nonexistent at Accenture unfortunately. But when I even got promoted at BAH, my raise was 1%. Yes you read that right. And no bonus. They said I was already making the "market rate" When I moved it was for a 30% bump, and I've gotten a bonus every 6 months, equalling more than the 5k at BAH, and without the strings.

We have sales people in Canada and the US, the Canadians make 150K CAD and down here it’s 150K USD, the Canadians argue they should be making 30% more than the US colleagues to be equal bc of the exchange! I explain the salary is dependent on the market data for them in Canada, WHERE THEY LIVE, and you can’t compare it to the US employees and the market data down here. Overall they are both in the 75th% for total comp. for their industry. Am I wrong?

I’ve only been with my company for a couple months but it looks like my title will change soon (title bump) and there should be some pretty cool added responsibilities. Should I bring up compensation or anything like that? I feel like I’ll be doing more work aligned to the direction I want to take my career but I also don’t want to look greedy since I haven’t been there for long. I have around 2 years of experience if that helps paint the picture. Also if yes, how do I bring it up?

Came across the concept of “cash envelope stuffing” on youtube. Seems like a pretty good concept to avoid overspending on each category of expenses. I am trying to get some ideas to incorporate this concept using multiple bank accounts/ cards. Where I allocate a set budgeted amount of money each month, to each bank account tagged for a specific category (groceries, vacation, emergency fund, etc). Is this something you have tried or have any ideas on how to go about it? Do you recommend this?
