Is a high mileage Porsche bad idea? Test drove a 2016 Cayenne, has ~55K miles and it was amazing. Felt like a new car without the new car smell. The heart says go for it, but the mind scares me about the maintenance cost. I’d really appreciate some advice on what I might be walking into if I end up falling for it. FWIW this will be my first luxury car, upgrading from a golf r.

Porsche makes an excellent car. I've had two and never had an issue. However, I would never own one out of warranty because I'm paranoid.

Porsche’s are built to last. I’ve seen several cars with over a hundred thousand miles. My neighbors Panamera has over 80k miles and he has had no issues. I just acquired a 2008 911 C4 with 65k and the mechanic who did the PPI said I should be good for several years. For piece of mind, look into an extended warranty through your local credit union.

I daily a 2001 996 Turbo with ~110k miles on it. Maintenance is not cheap but it’s a rock solid car.

I would have no issues getting a cayenne with 55k miles.

Cayenne is very reliable! Go for it and post a pic to the forum!

55K is not high mileage. Have seen a 180K Cayenne still running strong.

55k is high? My Dodge Ram is at 240k.

Obviously a rendering but I wish VW would make an Arteon coupe. They’ve already got the A5 to build off of, and honestly I think it’s a gap in their lineup. Could be a cool car to compete against the new Z/Supra etc.
