Hi All. Hope you're well! I'm looking for a new job. I have been on the hunt & now I could use your help. I've been in the IT field for several years as a consultant. I'm looking for positions such as Program, Project Analyst, Consultant, & anything similar. If you or anyone you know is hiring I'd love to connect and how I can provide impact. I am passionate and excited to make a difference. DM me for any information or questions. I can send you my resume. I appreciate your help!
Should I ask for a raise? My 6-month review is next week and I’m thinking about asking for a raise. I’ve never asked for one before and normally would never think of asking for one until at least 12 months but in the last couple of months my role and responsibilities have enhanced significantly. I don’t have much experience as this is my first job in advertising (comms background) and I don’t want to come off as naive or ignorant! Any advice would be welcomed. Thank you!
For those in a in-house position in Florida, can you please share your annual salary? Trying to get an idea of what to expect…
Would you leave Deloitte as a M for MBB but at one level down (SC equivalent)? I’m conflicted because I feel like I have a strong network internally and have lots of freedom to execute projects as I see fit but worried switching would take away all that plus move me backwards in role / responsibility.
Got offered to come on as a full-time employee after working for Guidehouse as a contractor for about 4 months. My position wouldn’t change, but after speaking with the recruiter I have a feeling I’m being low balled. I have over a year and a half of consulting analyst exp prior to contracting, and am currently acting as a team lead on this project. Am I wrong to expect a pay range of 70k-90k? They’re currently offering a little less than 50k
Was hired into a company at a level that was more junior than my skills (Was out of work due to pandemic for a year). I’ve been at the company 5 months. We’re going through a reorg and my new position will really be leveraging my years of experience more so than other role. Is it appropriate to discuss a raise/adding senior to title? Or should I do the job and then prove myself then talk about raise. I have more experience than the senior members of my team. New leadership than when I was hired
What exactly is “Client Partnership” role? The description sounds strategic and fancy but I have a hunch it’s more like running after clients to beg for their time.
Interviewing for Google - Sales Strategy and Ops Senior Associate role. If anyone has any tips, especially for the case interview and potential questions, it would be greatly appreciated!
PWC 🐠: Anyone willing to provide some insight on the Cyber Risk and regulatory practice? I found a role I’m interested in.
Best books about product management for a good exit to industry? I already have an MBA and PMP but looking for a refreshed perspective since it’s been years since my formal education. Currently reading “Product Managements Sacred Seven” but it’s geared toward the startup world. I am in healthcare and not looking for a startup role. TIA!!!
I have a question for HR/People Department leaders: For companies that are 1,000+ employees, what is your ideal HR/People Department structure? How many direct reports, and sub departments/teams does the CPO have, and what are roles are you hiring for (Traditional HR roles or more fluid/hybrid People Ops roles)?
Hello! Would anyone provide a referral to Amazon? I would like to apply to a Data Analyst position. Thank you very much!
Considering leaving MBB to join a FMCG. Corporate consulting role. Would be leaving at Manager level with Mba. What sort of compensation should I be expecting?
Hi Fishes, Accenture has openings in their mobilization team under the ops division. I have been offered a role at CL9 with fixed component of around 15 LPA. I have 5.5 YOE. The offer is approximately a 100% hike on my previous salary however i was able to negotiate on my current offers from from EY and FSL (both less than Accenture offer). Is the HR lowballing me and would you have any feedback for the mobilization team. Thanks
Anyone in the LA area applied or interviewed for one of the 3 international tax positions at Netflix? They keep reposting the openings on LinkedIn. Are they being insanely picky?
Would it be weird if I reached out to someone who sort of triggered my interest in a career path? This someone has an internal C level position at my company.
Thoughts on ABS trading at a BB? What type of transferable skills do you gain if HF isn’t your desired exit?
Anyone take courses/get a degree from Harvard Extension School? Experience? Was it worth it? Are you also able to build a network? Realize it’s not like an MBA, but that doesn’t fit my life now .
What is the the exit comp range for a Senior Consultant / Manager (post MBA)? More curious about the high end. My guess is ~150 - 300k total comp.
General musing - it seems like the vast majority of recs in here are for super expensive hotels and resorts (St Regis, etc). I work in consulting and make good money but can’t fathom spending $600+ a night on a hotel. Am I really in the minority or is it just that ppl staying at the Ritz want to show off?
To the two Publicis guys sitting in front of me on this American Airlines flight to Chicago, stop bragging about never taking a sick day and coming in even when you have the flu... 🙄
Hello guys!! Can anyone of you please help me out? Or atleast some advice!! I'm a bit confused between Accenture and Bain & Company. I've offers from both of these firms with almost similar package. The role is not related to consulting but more into the technical+business side. If I go with Bain, will it be more fruitful wrt brand value and job switch in next few years? Also, how is the hike and compensation benefits for the employees at Bain? Any sort of help/advice is more than welcome!
Moving to Houston next year. What kind of salary range would I be looking at as a consultant or senior consultant at Deloitte in the Regulatory Risk group? I’m a CPA with PA and industry experience.
Hello Fishes, there are few questions hitting to my mind about PWC AC, can you please help me clear this. 1. Benefits included and when does my eligibility start at PWC 2. Other perks(telecommuting perks and stock options) at PWC 3. vacation time and sick leave at PWC 4. Bonus compensation (Yearly / Mid year Bonus, Joining Bonus) Thanks!!
Hey team need some help - I’ve flown United since I was a child, and naturally I’ve flown with them through and through my consulting career. I just flew on Delta for the first time and it was so much nicer than what I’ve been used to. What’s loyalty like here at Delta - and is it worth status matching and becoming Delta loyal? NYC based if that makes any difference. TIA!!
Anyone here have experience with secondary insurance? Any examples of how it was useful to you or not worth it at all? Thank you 🙏🏼
Biglaw first year deferred from September to late January with a $10k advance. I had to incur $11,000 in credit card debt to live, & right when I started work, had a medical emergency that ended up costing me another $3,500. My paychecks have been smaller due to paying back the advance and prioritizing maxing out my 401k and HSA (my credit card debt was interest free). It was depressing working these hours to mostly just pay needs and my debt. Today I paid it all off! Woooooo! I feel so free.
Is MBB (mostly thinking about McKinsey) really that bad in terms of WLB? I feel like people tend to exaggerate things sometimes - i was told i'd be working approximately 65h at Deloitte in Tech Strategy and honestly that barely ever happened. I wasn't considering switching since I love my job and my team, but many people are telling me I shouldn't "waste" my potential at Deloitte (whatever that means...). They kind of got to me and now i'm looking for more info about the culture/work at MBB.
Not sure if I’m being too forward or guy isn’t really interested? He only responds twice a day via text and I offered to get drinks because I don’t like wasting time texting but now he’s MIA
On most hotel reservations it’s seems not to be a problem bringing 3 if you reserve a room for 2. I want to redeem my hotel points for international stays in European countries but they charge extra
Black (Stone vs Rock), which one has better exit ops for technical manager role. What’s the bonus potential?
Does anyone sign their emails at the end with their initials of their first and last name? I'm not sure how I feel about that, I've noticed quite a lot of people in the firm and at the client who do.
Have seen a lot of negative about Trump lately. Don't forget, if it wasn't for him, Juneteenth would still be an ignored holiday.
Hey TSE fam, just successfully completed the sign to close phase of an acquisition. Great relationship built with senior manager as well as client. Client said he is now considering requesting me for the rest of the year for the post close integration. What are the pros and cons of staying? Will it be a positive or negative for when I’m up for promotion to manager next year? Thanks for your advice!
