Marriott number did not apply correctly to reservation. Front desk person tried to add it and then told me it was done, but stay is still not showing in my account. Can they add retroactively w folio?

Recently joined a consulting firm and have a corporate AmEx now. I am planning on paying the $95 fee to get the points from corporate expenses. I also have only a chase sapphire preferred. Is it worth picking up a Gold or Platinum card to pool all the points in one place? I eat out a lot and mostly redeem points for statement credit or the occasiaonl hotel room (use Marriott). Don’t do a ton of personal flying. Thanks in advance.

How many points? Platinum Elite Marriott member- Delayed flight got me to the hotel at ~2:00am. I try to check in and was told they have my reservation, but there is no room available. They “tried to contact me” but also told me I have no phone number on file (never been told this, I believe it is, plus my email is there). Ended up literally having to call nearby hotels with the front desk lady and walking to a Marriott with our luggage .5 mile away. Had to pay double the original booked rate

Is it a good idea to make a jump now for 16-17 LPA or is it going to make me overpaid for my next jump?I am confused. Do I need to stay for another year and then make a jump.
