never. you leave when you want. dont let anyone tell you otherwise. your life, your career.

like

To respond generally, Yes it is too soon. 3 years is the minimum I have heard from a few different hiring managers.

But to be more specific it depends on your situation.

like

Really depends on what you are trying to do next. However, I also think the whole world turned upside down with this virus so I think you may have a one time pass to do a change if you want.

like

Nah, leave when you’ve gotten what you want out of it or can’t take it any longer.

like

Depends, leaving for what?

If you’re trying to reference it in any positive way in the future, yes. If you’re taking a totally different life path, no.

Do you have your CPA yet?

I would say it is ok to leave as long as you are happy and the other company is willing to hire. Be careful and don’t keep moving to new job every year, if you end up doing it few times not a biggie. Again, I see no issue as long as you are happy to move to new job and the new employer is willing to hire you who gives a s*** what others think

Honestly the longer you stay the more valuable you will be in the long run unless you plan to go into something completely different.

How do Big 4 firms handle retention counteroffers/matching for competing offers from outside of your city and cost of living?

For example, you live in a low cost of living and receive an offer from a competing firm in a high cost of living state? Would there be an adjustment of some sort based on the cost of living difference? Would they offer to retain you in the other city and match the offer?

Should I take this offer? Currently M2 tax manager at B4 based in BANW with just under 120k salary 6Yoe. The industry offer is base 30% increase + 15% bonus and 100k equity 4yr vesting. It's a SF based fintech company and the team seems great. It will be fully remote position. For many reasons I started looking outside of PA and this offer seems great. But now that I actually have an offer, I think I am a bit nervous now. Any inputs/words of encouragement would be appreciated.

I'm a risk manager with 8 years of experience in banking. If I wanted to jump into the consulting world for new experiences, are there opportunities in the Big 4 that have partial work life balance, or would I be better off in a smaller global consulting firm (ie. Accenture)?

Currently interning at an asset management firm as a service desk analyst - I started the internship beginning of August 2021. Making $20 an hour wasn’t bad when I first was hired as this was my first internship and I wanted the experience. I’ve been working almost full-time while going to school because the firm needs the help and I wanted to make an impression on management. They’ve noticed and talked to me about it - is it inappropriate to ask for a raise? I handle the same issues as the FTE
