Probably because more than half of our people are offshore. So it's still a pretty good return, I think. We are only about 50-60k people here in the US.

Fo sho. It's itemized as "Accenture x 2.5"
Pro
Some people argue Accenture Strategy is tier 2, but it’s not true. At best we are tier 2 or 3.
Also for reference Deloitte makes almost the same revenue we do ~$50B with half the people.
So are we prestigious? Compared to most companies in the tech space, yes. Compared to T2, B4, MBB, no. However we still pay extremely well.

Y’all are also quite profitable. It’s a healthy business.
Rising Star
It's about as prestigious as a Toyota Camry or Ford Taurus.

Relative to what? It's a good job. But it's not as impressive as rocket surgeon.
That’s not true! People outside of consulting care about prestige. All the former consultants care
Pro
Prestigious firms don't discriminate against normal/working class ethic groups and layoff entire regions for virtue signal points.
Ohh whoops McKinsey did just that
Accenture is generally considered a Tier 2 firm (tier 1 is MBB). Massive firm with diverse offerings, particularly known for tech implementation.

Isn’t Accenture a contingent workforce staffing company?
Not T2 or prestigious… mostly do IT implementation and outsourcing work to offshore
Pro
Well then it’s a no brainer. And it’s not that accenture pays better than B4, it’s that whoever you’re not working for pays better. For instance I’m moving to B4 for more than I’m making at ACN.
I'd say just a notch below B4
Pro
Definitely a name brand in tech consulting but surprised it’s that low considering big 4 are above that with low margin services like audit

Probably in the top 5-10% of standard corporate firms by prestige. Not quite at the level of the top 1% (MBB, top finance firms, FAANG, etc).
Not sure why you’re so concerned with prestige though. Factors like comp, type of work, WLB, and alignment with your goals are way more important
60-70% of Accenture’s total employees sit in the outsourcing business which has very different economics than consulting
No. As your revenue comment suggests, they are bottoms feeders. Exact opposite of prestigious.
how much do entry level consultants typically make? im a senior associate in a sweatshop biglaw, generally curious. do not want to switch just wondering
Pro
Really depends on the practice and if you have an mba from a top B school. I’m in strategy and we typically pay more, especially at lower levels. I’ve seen niche tech SM make as much or more than strategy SM though.
The reason I can’t answer your question better is we just initiated new pay bands. One thing I will say for strategy is we pay at a national band so if your in a LCOL city you really make out.
100K per employee?? Why does that seem so low.
