Half my office came from Accenture lol
I worked for Slalom for a time and loved it.. left only because to a non-office area. Office makeup is very dependent on location, so what I will tell you may be different than what you experience.
My office was primarily ex-Accenture and ex-Deloitte. People were fun, hardworking, and career driven.. which is good for Slalom because they operate in a way that very much puts your career in your own hands. Work focused on the industries in that city, so keep that in mind as well with the local model.
Rising Star
Speaking as a Slalom employee who also got better pay here than at Big 4, I'd say go for it. I'm getting to specialize in the area that I'm really passionate about, pay is better, culture is miles better. Very happy with the jump.

Have interviewed with them a couple times over the years and always found the people to be super friendly and the culture to be very strong. There's a reason they're successful and growing, especially as people's interest in local work and balance increases.
That said, I think it kind of depends on where in your career you are. If your focus right now is rapid progression for instance I think there are advantages to staying at Accenture assuming you're in an up or out group.
Pay is stagnant, WLB is good, people you work with are good, promotion process is like pulling teeth and extremely frustrating, social aspect is good (hh and events), exit ops… I exited to ACN lol.
All our new experienced hires at Invent are coming from Accenture or Slalom. Slalom folks tell me that the WLB is amazing but the pay stagnates which is why they’re here (better pay and equal WLB). Also, Slalom is very local office driven so YMMV depending on which office is your assignment.
These are all great points! Does anyone know anything about the exit opportunities from Slalom? I know at some point I want to get out of consulting to go to a tech firm, would Accenture make that switch easier?
Been wondering this as someone who just joined from a big 4.
From what I can tell so far it’s going to be a lot easier for me to get into projects that’s will actually prep me for tech than it was at my previous big 4.
I also already had big 4 on my resume so that, combined with the much better WLB and huge raise made it worth the risk that it will be slightly harder to exit to tech in a few years. Who knows really.
