Any book recommendations?
Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

I couldn’t see myself employed in industry... seems so boring. Only downside is the constant travel.
Not my opinion since I came from industry. I’ve seen both sides.
There are people, including myself who like it. And yes, I’ve tried jobs outside client services.
it's impossible
I left and came back. Grass isn’t always greener. I’ll be much smarter if I leave again 🤗
Industry has more PowerPoints and more stupid PowerPoints. Less meaningful and less impactful. It was a program manager role at a large tech company (hardware not software). Decent visibility but the projects were just bad and I create a massively larger impact with what I do here.
I’m in tech consulting too so less decks for me. I’m also more senior now so have staff do a lot of decks and I get involved in quite a few very interesting discussions jntwenally and externally. Wouldn’t happen for someone my age in industry
People complain about hating the job and sticking it out for the pay, I complain about not getting paid enough despite loving the job. Grass is always greener
Would you mind sharing why you come back, P1?
I actually like consulting. It builds professional rigor and the exit opps are great if you are strategic about your plans.
I was in industry for almost 10 years.
Pay was a lot smaller, perks were nonexistent, and it was hard to start a 2nd business.
Joined consulting 6 months ago with the biggest pay raise I’ve ever seen, perks (including traveling than I’ve ever had), look and feel more like a boss, and already started a side company with a partner.
I love consulting. It’s molding me into a better version of myself .
Can confirm.
Started as campus hire, left, did industry, got the T-shirt, came back and can confirm that consulting suits me better right now. I really do like my job. This may change on 5 or 10 years as I move into another phase of my life, so who knows? Works for me now, which is what's important.
