I made a similar transition without an mba and got a nice pay bump. If you took the time you’d otherwise spend on gmat and applications and applied it to applying and networking you should be able to make the switch without having to get an mba.

like

Thanks, DM'd you!

Not worth it if you can transition directly. What do you believe you are missing where an MBA will provide and help you get there?

like

An MBA won’t win you much respect in tech (except with Amazon, strangely)

like

MBA will not add much here, it might only be an added value in top tech FAANG companies like Amazon and only on levels L6/7+ otherwise networking and adding more knowledge of specific software/apps will be more beneficial.

I have been looking at the curriculums for Harvard Business School's Master of Business Administration and Harvard Extension School's ALM in Management. They both have the same requirements (generally speaking) including a capstone course that serves as a field immersion course with the Master's in Management, which is fairly new. If I am not able to gain admission to Harvard Business School, but wanted a similar educational experience to become a consultant, should I attend Harvard Extension?

How difficult is it to start a solo firm? I’m a first year attorney working in insurance defense in Florida. I love my firm and the mentoring I’m receiving and I’m definitely not looking to move anytime soon, but I would love to start my own firm once I feel competent. Maybe in a few years. Any advice for planning? Thanks!

Hello,
I’m a junior data scientist and in my current job I mostly code using Pyspark (no machine learning) so I would like to work on a side project that could leverage my profile and data science/ML skills. What project would you advice me to work on ? (it can be a kaggle project, or a classic task that you do at your job, or a paper that you read).
I’m overwhelmed by the many suggestions online and would prefer to get a suggestion directly from professionals.
PS : I’m not a beginner.
