First time being sick on a client site. I would pay to be in my apartment instead of this hotel room.
Good morning everyone, any advice on how to pivot from a career in Accoutning to Project Management? Here's some background, 12YOE in public accounting, recent finished a tech project management bootcamp certification course and will sit for the PSM exam soon. Looking for roles in Associate/Jr PM, Implementation Consultant or BA. Any advice will be appreciated.
In addition to my day to day project, do you think it’s valuable to raise my hand for an ops due diligence? Is it a valuable learning opp that’s worth the added grind? TIA?
Folks whose h1 was picked in lottery, hav ur lawyers submitted documents to uscis. What documents they need frm client and frm u. What is last date to submit. Mine got picked but no word from lawyers
I'm an introverted person, like to keep to myself, focus on work, spend the rest of my time on family, gym etc. I've been told that I need to work on my communication and client relationship building skills. any books I can read? I don't follow pop. culture anymore, no longer actively follow team sports (but sporty myself) as I consider it bread and circus for the masses and don't rly enjoy work drinks... Am I doomed? Personally I am happy and love the work but fear for my career progression.
The Year end process at Deloitte has me reflecting on my past engagements. I’ve two tough and stressful project experiences that absolutely consumed my life at the time. The amount of stress and anxiety I felt, I’d never wish on anyone. Is it too dramatic to say that it’s hard to even think about those points in my life?
Anyone have info on MBB/Strategy& supply chain consulting? Group size, actively hiring, common backgrounds (MBA/certifications required/helpful?), project types, & interview prep tips? Looking to enter as an experienced hire. Currently a procurement financial analyst and just passed my CSCP certification. Ex-big4. Thanks!
I got GSAP this past cycle- can this be revoked if I get the lower rating for Firm Contributions? I excelled in terms of project performance, but kind of did the minimum for firm
Struggling with JE’s for earnouts paid post-acquisition. Amounts were paid out to former owners in a prior period. I think the entry was Dr. accrued expense; Cr. Cash. Now it’s sitting in accrued exp, so I asked why and the client says it was wrong and is reclassing now by Dr. Investment in Sub; Cr. Accrued Exp. (Investment in sub rolls up into current liability.) Does this make sense? I’m so confused about what this should be.
Working a large global team and looking for an efficient way for the client to consolidate multi-market feedback. Anyone have any recos? Want to get ahead of building something so it can be rolled out before hand.
Really want to make the switch to client side, but nervous I don’t have all the qualifications for CRM analyst/manager. I love strategy/data. Thoughts/ideas?
I constantly get talked down in this new team, I hate everything about this project and I can’t take it anymore. I am a single mom and I am very depressed out of this situation. I am about to quit right now, I am all in tears and don’t know what to do. I always try my best and feel like nothing is good enough. I can’t have insurance for my baby, what should I do 😭😭
What’s the TC for Client Solutions Manager at Tik Tok? Also any real insight on the type of interview questions they may ask?
at what point should you inform your project you’re wanting to roll-off? do you wait to secure a role on a different project? or do you inform them you’re looking to leave - so that you can inform potential projects when you’re actually coming available?
A partner is making tough for friend to go on a parental leave, saying if client cn manage w/o u for 6 wks...they don’t need u here...aren’t they suppose to help teams with this..what’s going on here
Rolled off a really cool team member off my engagement this week. It really sucked to see them go. Client was a turd. Will try to do better for them next time. And I hope theres a next time
Been on the same project for 1.5 years - and keep getting extended. The client basically is using me as a safety blanket incase things go wrong. Getting bored..
Finally built up the courage to take full advantage of the beach by visiting the gf on a weekday. At 8:30pm I got an email saying be back for a project by 8:30am tomorrow. She lives 4 hours away...
That awkward moment when your client whips out an electronic cigarette and starts puffing away mid presentation.
Partners, directors, senior managers... What are your thoughts on male managers taking 3 months of paternity leave (assuming your firm has such a policy)
Decision - I was out the door of my nationwide ins dfense firm. Was going to top local firm with a lot more clout where everything would be private pay and I’d be more on bigger exposure cases. However, my firm outmatched the new firm, made a much better bonus structure, and said I could do more work with their complex bus lit group. I’d still likely do about 50 percent ins defense but I really like the partners I work for, and I handle own cases/take depos, and get autonomy. Am I right to stay?
Serious question. I constantly see income reports published that indicate only ~5% of the US population make over $250k, ~1% over $500k, etc. Is this actual W2 reported income? Do corporations have ways to compensate individuals so that their total comp does NOT show on their W2 (RSUs, Deferred Compensation, etc.)? Reason I ask is because I see great wealth all around me. I feel like these reports do not always tell the whole story in terms of TC & investment income.
I received a verbal offer from Goldman Sachs and after negotiating the salary I have yet to hear back. Is that normal? It’s been almost two weeks since verbal offer. Or is it safe to assume I’ve been ghosted by the recruiter?
For those of you who are successful in your interview process and landed on an offer, did you feel like you ace every question they asked in in the interview and articulate perfectly? I’m a bit nervous now Bc I felt like I could have spoken better 😭😭😭😭
So Uber layoffs have started. Uber subsidiary Careem to let go 31% of it’s staff. Sad state of affairs... https://blog.careem.com/en/securing-careem-through-these-uncertain-times/

Hi 🐟 Does Dassault systems sends rejection mail. Please add your thoughts if you Interviewed at Dassault.
Hi everyone. Not sure this post falls into the right category but here it goes: I have been talking to two agencies who are interested in my work. One already made an offer. The other has not yet, but we are in a second round of interviews. My question: is it appropriate to bring the fact that I have already an offer from an agency 1 when talking to agency 2? I am very interested in the second agency but I’d like them to know that I can’t wait too long. Thoughts?
Left Booz last year to work for one of the beltway bandits. Culturally this is not a fit and I'm looking to quit. While I don't plan to go back to Booz or a Big 4, I'm considering a non technical role with a tech company in the DC or Reston area, preferably in partnership, BD or sales. How bad does a gap on my resume appear to recruiters and hiring managers? Any advice is appreciated.
People that are reaching out to strangers via linkedin: how are you conducting your networking sessions nowadays? Is it still primarily a phone conversation? Zoom webcam call? Or are in-person coffee chats coming back?
Just got free weekend night reward from Hilton for spending so much $$ on my Amex HH card. Haven’t looked into details yet, but anyone have difficulty using this (calling and booking the room)? Are certain brands excluded? Is it easy to combine with another booking/to include on a vacation?
