Is anyone considering moving from a high density urban area to a more suburban or rural area as a result of Covid-19?

Pre COVID I decided to move from downtown to the suburbs (had no idea about COVID then) just thought it was time to get outta the city. I noticed a huge increase in my mental health. Now that COVID has happened I’m even happier not to be in the city.

Yes. Literally house hunting in suburbia right now and it’s madness how many people have the same idea.

Fairfield County CT real estate is a bit of a frenzy - has been down for a bit so there is still a lot of value.

I’m currently living in West LA (Silicon Beach) and considering a big move to AZ for affordability of a home with lots of space, private pool, etc. I was always remote, but enjoyed living 10 min from LAX for ease of travel. Biggest concern is finding new work if this one falls victim to the economy if I’m not in a major urban area.

It’s a great time to look. Prices have dropped in the NYC suburbs.

One of my coworkers started complaining that I didn't wear a mask on a Zoom call, because I might "infect the people coming into my house". That so-called person is my house cleaner, and we're both triple vaccinated and are fine not wearing masks. Should I tell my coworker to mind their own business?

Tips for not crying when you’re asking for leave? I’m so stressed and overwhelmed with work and the CPA exam and I want to take time off to just put all my energy into the exam and be done with it. I want a month and a half to finish it up and then have a week or two to decompress before I come back. But anytime I wanna talk about it, the stress and nerves overwhelm me and my eyes start welling up. Idk how to control it.

Ugh, don't you just love it when patients say things like, I only want a doctor to insert my IV or give me the shot? I always want to say, look, the doctor probably hasn't placed an IV since their Internship and I've been doing this every day for the past 15 years...

Asked for a LOA because I just got bad medical news and want time to process & find surgeons (I have to decide between staying in constant pain or being able to have kids one day). HR said it’s not a valid reason & I’ll lose my insurance at the end of the month if I take leave. They want me to use my 5 days of sick time & return to work after. I have an underlying autoimmune issue & need to save my sick days in case of a flare up. Ranting, but a reminder that companies don’t care about anyone

I’m really struggling mentally. The understanding of how insanely busy and overwhelming it will be because of this COVID-19 crap is giving me severe anxiety and panic attacks. I want to leave so badly but no one is hiring right now. I don’t know what to do. I feel trapped with no way out.

Any good detox diets that good to try out and not horrroble for your body? I want to curb some sugar cravings and bad eating habits over the past year. Has anyone done one they liked? I was thinking of starting a 3 day detox then go into 7days of a white meat/fruit cleanse for a week. Then just stop eating like a complete child on holiday after those are done 😅 any advice on what helped you get past the cravings and level set would be helpful! Had a my 7 week ultrasound today, confirming I’m PREGNANT after my second medicated IUI!!!! So happy to have heard that heartbeat. There were some oddities on the ultrasound- wondering if any of you have experienced any/all of these and how it worked out (doc didn’t sound alarms, just said we’d keep an eye, but naturally I’m worried):
1. Grapefruit sized cyst on right ovary 2. Unknown object with no heartbeat (maybe a hematoma) in the gestational sac with my baby 3. An empty gestational sac

Rant: I finally got a baby registry started and sent the link to family... and immediately was told all the things I need on there that I don't have (including things I'm opting to just NOT GET, like an electric pump - why is my nursing preference up for debate????). I hate it already. I'm tempted to take it down, buy it all myself and just tell people to start a college fund if it bothers them.

I'm 38, have had 4 miscarriages and the PRESSURE OF THIS PREGNANCY is unreal.

I so badly wanted to get offer letter and resign from my company.

Now I have OL and serving notice, still I’m not happy and want to go for higher package and better offer.
