Hey VMware employees how did you get hired? I have had several multi month interviews over the past year or two. Each one is multiple interviews only to get rejected at the end. Really wanted to work at this company but the interview process is exhausting.
I'm a TC-II at Deloitte and I got an offer from PwC for a similar Tax Associate 2 role. The pay gap is not much just a 19% upgrade.
Could someone from PWC please tell me if it's a good idea to join PWC SDC Banglore for US Tax?
Huh, got my score notice for CPA results that posted this week
Even with getting a 70 (Audit) I was. Weaker in 3 areas and stronger in only one. No comparables
Guess i got a lot of studying to do
I just watched the Queen’s latest address. After 4 mins, I feel constantly reassured. Something about her is larger than life. The day of her death will send shocks like no other events. GSTQ!
Do most recruiters usually call with a verbal offer first and then get like your okay then email you the written offer the same day? Just curious if you want to negotiate the offer if should do it after they provide the verbal or after get the written one so can review everything then negotiate? Been a while since I’ve got one so want to have idea of when is best to negotiate
Hey guys! I'm someone with a BA in finance.

Did you regret doing lengthy studying and should have focus on practical work etc? Let me know your thoughts!

I am Fresher, I joined HCL 4months back. We all got a mail for hybrid mode work. My work location and client work location is Bangalore. Due to some personal reasons, I can't go to Bangalore. My manager advise me to work on chennai shollinganallur location. But , but for my client resources there is no ODC in Chennai. Is there any common ODC in shollinganallur where I can work?

Why are recruiters so bad at responding to emails from candidates after the initial screening, no matter where along the process the candidate is in?
Can I round without using formula? Like with cell formatting? Eg. $1,234,567.99 $+,+++,; result = $1,234 but want the 4 to round up (using + instead of hashtag)

Looking for a gift for milestone birthday of wife (working as a senior exec). I am really bad at thinking through gift ideas (have done usual spa stuff in past) and seeking help on ideas from friends here. What have you gifted that was received well (or received and liked if you are a female partner). Thanks for helping out your fellow partner :)
I'm an Accenture Managing Director considering a move to Deloitte. I've got 15 - 20 yrs possibly left in my career. Any thoughts on Managing Director vs Principal?
Any suggestions on how to get an adjunct teaching role at a university. Don't need money or prestige. I enjoy teaching and gives me something to do when I retire in ~10 yrs. Many colleagues who do this are big alumni donors. My Alma mater is too far away to be practical option. I'm an expert in a very in demand field - get quoted in articles all the time but have not been able to connect with anyone in academia.
Partner poll - is COVID causing you to fundamentally rethink whether you want to stay in consulting? Cannot stop thinking about using this disruptive moment to hang my own shingle and do something completely different - buy/start a small business. 22 years in consulting. Partner 7 yrs. Young family.

Deloitte Partners - I’m being recruited by Deloitte as a direct admit but kinda hesitant b/c my perception is the mothership is too big that I’d be “just another number”. Is my perception wrong?
Not even proud... especially given that my sleep goal isn’t too lavish in the first place. How are you folks coping?
is partner at a big-4 better than a equivalent role at accenture? is there a comparable role? in pay and prestige? as i understand there is no equity concept at accenture but may be pay wise they can meet big-4 partner packages?
In talking with peers from top tier firms, it appears like we are all going thru a similar grind internally. Feels like it is all good intentioned but overwhelming nonetheless. Do u feel differently?

OP, these are obviously brutal times. As partners we face unique challenges. We’ve just been financially hammered (to the point where bills may be an issue for some). Each of us are responsible for maintaining the financial lifelines of all of our team members in the middle of a crisis ... not to mention being cooped up in our homes. Our people are suffering as well. But the truth is this will pass. We will come out if this. And our lives will return to a more normal state. Our people will get their lives back. And the firm will roll on. Keep your chin up, say some of the really ridiculous catch phrases our leadership pretends are inspiring (e.g. Together, for better, with courage ... etc) and remember, a whole bunch of people understand and identify with what you’re feeling. You’re not alone in this. Same goes for every one of our people.
I’m glad that I’m not alone and that others are feeling the weight on their shoulders from worrying about their teams and how to keep all of these people employed...while managing personal stress.... this isn’t something we’ve really talked about at Accenture at the leadership level. We’ve talked about team morale. Not p2p support though. This thread is reassuring.
There is certainly plenty to be anxious about. That said, for the good of our firms and our people, I think we need Partners to be hitting the phones / VCs as much as ever now - otherwise how do we get business going again and keep our teams employed?
If the work you were doing before isn’t selling now, can you adapt to help with any offerings relevant to COVID response?
And as for the anxiety itself - there are no silver bullets, but try meditation.
I feel the same way.
Is your anxiety business related or personal? Sorry to hear this OP. Happy to talk if helpful.
Business related... with projects pausing I don’t know how to sustain myself in this environment, starting to do my own scenario planning... would love to know how others are thinking through this... I don’t feel comfortable sharing my fears with my peers.
Also you may not feel you “need” it, but talk therapy is an option (there are various virtual / phone versions), and more of us should probably be considering it.
Don’t abandon ship.
Love that perspective and definitely rowing/steering the ship with. The destination just seems far
