6 months of covid quarantining has ruined my style.
Like many people, I have been experiencing a roller coaster of anxiety in recent months. I’ve gotten it more under control by cutting down on the news I watch, and trying to not think about work after I shut down my computer. I have a dear friend who is also dealing with anxiety. When we talk, the discussion is always about how anxious she is about COVID, Civil Unrest, etc. And she wants to talk about work which I’m trying not to do as much. How to be a good friend and keep from spiraling?
My firm does not allow remote work- at least not for associates. The firm recently hosted a holiday party and insisted that every associate had to attend in person. Masks were not worn. I, along with a huge number of other associates, caught Covid and I’m convinced it was from the party. Is it ridiculous to consider leaving for another firm? Should I sue for making us attend a holiday party at the height of the pandemic?
Much of USA just started to take quarantine measures, and I'm sure we will see this.. Wherever the world you are, please please remember to be patient with your loved ones in this difficult time!!!

As someone who has only worked at EY and has no other work experience or “passion,” how do I begin looking? I’m a high performer in CA with a cpa and working in tax but I don’t feel like I have enough time for myself with all the extra work from people leaving during the never ending busy seasons. I’m in my mid twenties and feel like work is my life. I think I’ll be satisfied with six figures for a while, which I’d be pretty close to after my raise in October anyways, and 40 hour work weeks.

As an experienced, SHRM certified HRBP , I would just like some feedback on your opinion of the differences in the roles between an HRBP an HR Manager besides the obvious that the manager should have direct reports. I am an HRBP and work in step with 3 HRM’s. They all 3 just got out of cycle raises of between 5-20% 😳 and I received nothing. I am quite aware of our HR code that salary is confidential but I was told about this. Would you be looking for other employment? Or stay?
I’m an HR Manager for a small (41 employee) company in Chicago. I make $70,000 a year no bonuses. I’m SHRM-CP and PHR certified with four years experience and a masters in HR. Am I underpaid?

My company went toxic in the last couple months. Chose me and started interviewing. Had a very successful interview with Amazon but recruiter is working hard trying to place me and said there’s no knowing how long to find a team. Meanwhile I just received a Director offer for a company with a 29% pay bump July 1. If Amazon or any other FAANG/large co gets back to me, is there an acceptable way to not burn bridges with new job and accept or delay start date with FAANG? Or fuck it just hop?
I've been in PeopleOps (mostly focused on TA Ops) for over 9 years now. I've somehow gotten by without a degree in HR or a certification, but would like to get some more education to continue to advance my career. What are your thoughts on PHR vs SPHR vs SHRM for someone with my years of experience and current role as a manager?
I’d like to be prepared for the initial phone screen convo, which will only last 20-30 minutes. The JD shows the salary range as 110-130(USD) commensurate with experience, but I’m happy to land anywhere in that range—yet I don’t think it’s good to disclose that. How can I tactfully still talk to the recruiter about landing closer to 130? Not trying to be greedy, but certainly aiming high!
Need some advice. During May of 2021 an operations manager and an hourly Hr employee started a relationship while the ops manager was married. We had supervisors give us pictures of those two kissing at workFast forward they are now engaged and getting married. The HR worker does not work here anymore since July 2021. Is it too late to investigate the ops manager for misconduct ? The ops manager has worked here for 15 years and is super valuable, the operation literally can not run without him.
I work at a Manufacturing company. We currently have our hourly team members clock in and out at a physical clocking machine. We would like to change this since one of our values is trust and it makes our team members feel like we don't trust them. What other ways are companies having hourly team members clock in/out?
