Is anyone else getting lonely during their respective provinces/state lockdown? Haven’t seen some of my friends in a long time or if I have seen them it’s been brief, outside and at a distance. Miss socializing and going out.

I thought I was an introvert, but it turns out I’m not this much of an introvert. I miss going to a cafe and reading a book there while drinking coffee. Miss game nights. Miss museums and the beach. Miss going for drinks with friends from law school and bitching about our jobs. Miss eating at restaurants. Miss going to concerts. I even miss traveling for work and early morning court appearances at this point.

You know, I loved living in the city because there’s always stuff to do, but when there’s nothing to do, it’s no better than suburbia. Just more cramped.

Hahahah I just said in response to the previous post that I was an introvert as well. IM BORED THOUGH. When will this end

You want to talk to people?!

funny

I know it’s odd especially cause I consider myself an introvert... bet the extroverts are feeling worse😂

I feel the same way. I live alone and am single, so socializing with friends is my main source of contact with people. I go to court a few times a week which helps me mentally, but it’s still tough. I had to do a 14 day quarantine recently, and I honestly started talking to my food. I desperately need some in person, human connection.

I feel your pain 1000% with the single, living alone, COVID dating thing. This sucks, but I suppose it could be worse, so I’m just patiently waiting it out. Lol.

can you be friends with an ex? We dated less than 3 mos, have some mutual friends but live in different cities.
We love each other but needed to break up. He had a recent family trauma & other stressors (law school mostly) that initiated the breakup. He couldnt afford to be emotionally present within us and the things at home (which i dont blame him for and fully respect)
I want to support him but also balance my own desires and expectations. Ive accepted we’re broken up fr. ended over 1mo ago

We get it, ghosting happens. But has it ever happened to you repeatedly by the same person? Cashmere Agency in LA calls me relentlessly and then ghosts me just as relentlessly. Sales Force has done it two or three times as well. I can’t help but laugh and think about how it feels like getting a text from an ex—this didn’t work out before remember? It’s only been a month I’m still me.

42F dating 42M for 9 months. We used to live about 30 minutes away from each other and saw each other once a week, but I moved a few months ago (now10 minutes away) and we still only see each other once a week. He calls me every night and we talk on the phone for 1-2 hours. We do lots of fun stuff together- art fairs, sporting events, and just relax and cook together and watch some movies. He sees his friends once every couple months. Am I wasting my time with this guy? No kids/don't want kids

This place is more focused on strict policies and not actually trying to work their employees and being flexible.

Yesterday, my attorney husband received an offer from a firm. It’s a solid offer but his goal is in house. Also yesterday, he interviewed for two diff in house positions, and one of them was his dream job and a REALLY great interview but he would still need at least one more interview with the company before an offer. Is the best option to accept the firm job, continue interviewing with the in house job(s), and if he gets an in house offer to take it and rescind his acceptance of the firm job?

Just lead with Dewey, Cheatem & How is looking for…. Then I know whether or not to reply and I don’t have to play a guessing game of who it is. Also, if you know the salary range include that too.

Is it realistic to expect a first year to hit their hours? Our firm starts the proverbial clock on day 1. No credit given for 2 weeks of onboarding or continued first year trainings. No cushion for getting up to speed. Our cycle is September-August so idk if I should prepare to stress about this for the next 9 months or just do my best. I recently got a random call from a counsel offering a “plan” for catching up. That plan was billing 180/month for 9 months. No time off, not even holidays.

Discussions about proper language in the workplace is making me rethink my own usage now. Often times I’ll answer calls from partners with “hey, what’s up.” Also plenty of emojis and gifs and reactions if we’re on a texting basis. Sad to see that some might see this as unprofessional but also I don’t think I’d want to work at some place that uptight, either.
