Hi all- my wife is pregnant and I recently came across the following release from Pfizer. Would like some analytically minded folks on here to help me interpret, particularly table 6 (page 12). Am I reading this right that 28 out of 274 pregnancy cases had adverse reactions? I assume I’m misinterpreting. Thanks for the help. https://phmpt.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/5.3.6-postmarketing-experience.pdf

Prepare. Weather is getting more extreme. Climate change will keep getting worse over time
In Houston. We broke down and bought a whole house backup generator after the big freeze . Took 10 months to get installed. We live in Bellaire and it comes on all the time due to random power outages.
Yes, tied directly to gas line. We went for the biggest one, 24kW. Our house is 3,200 sq ft with two ac units and that size will power everything at once if needed. We paid right at $15k, but we also had to pay an extra $1k to have it built on a 4’ platform since Houston floods offer. A 22kW that would power one ac unit is about $1,500 less expensive.
Half the cost is installation. A regular electrician can’t install it, my father in law is a journeyman electrician and he said no way. It’s essentially a mini power plant in the backyard, and if you don’t have it installed by a specialist you void warranty
Time to grab a generator... Thanks Greg abbott
That is why for our next 3 months of grocery shopping/ the big hauls- we are starting to prepare. Stocking up!
Booze, lots and lots of booze.
We will probably see some severe weather and temperatures this winter. I have a climate science education, and this year we have every reason to believe we will see a drop in temp. The summer was hard. The winter will be too. Money is tight all around, so some easy things to do to protect your homes are focus on insulation and blocking any drafty areas (doors and window seams). Protect external pipes. Water filtration systems or grabbing enough clean water for your family (make sure you leave enough for everyone). Collect non-perishables. If you have a space heater, be extremely cautious and don’t leave it on in a closed space. And maybe MOST important, communicate with your neighbors. Potentially create a plan with a community in mind. We aren’t meant to manage these things alone.
Nope I had fun lol, driving around in the snow and ice
Yes and unfortunately probably
Rising Star
A once in a lifetime storm tends to be just that
There was a similar winter storm in 2011 I believe, at least I remember in Dallas. Had a week without power, although the temps stayed in the 20s that week.
Yes you got me looking at generators again
Yes definitely have PTSD 😩 our apartment was freezing, had no water at all for 5 days, all stores near us were empty, and we almost ran out of drinkable water and were sharing with our pets. I melted snow on the stove top to flush our toilet. I now stock up on bottled water. Then this year, we had moved to a house, our heat stopped working when it got down to like 20 degrees for a few days and the HVAC company wouldn’t send someone to look at it because too many people had called that their heat wasnt working, so they just decided to not help anyone. We also frequently have power outages for seemingly no reason. I’m ready to leave Texas. ✌🏼
Power goes out every week still for a few minutes... usually right in the middle of something 😅
Military ID Card
No I’m prepared
Rising Star
Sure; the probability of it happening is higher than normal . Extreme Summers and Extreme Winters . Could be worse, but stay positive .
Have been stockpiling canned goods and water, usually pick up a few things every run to H‑E‑B and put it in our disaster kit. Bought a solar charger for our cellphones and have plenty of spare gas bottles for the camping stove.
You can also get large, collapsible water containers. They store well and the one I have is five gallons (I live alone so that would probably hold me over for a minute).
Shouldn’t be an issue this year with all the PTSD idiots stocking up early
Who hurt you? It’s always good to have an emergency kit to survive for at least 2 weeks
Didn’t lose power or water at all. Must be living next to someone in government lol
I didn’t either. Turns out I am on a critical grid with fire, police and a hospital.
I stocked up a bit ahead of winter last year, and I’m going to start again soon. I have a huge local family and we are the only ones with an all wheel drive vehicle so we feel the need to have much more than what just we need. Bought a gas stove, battery packs for phones, etc. I don’t want a generator but it may come to that eventually.
I filled up both our vehicles the Sunday before the storm, and I’m so glad I did. Will do that again.
