Received a job offer at a consulting firm as a data analytics consultant for $20k more than I am making now. I am torn on taking the job offer because my manager told me I was getting promoted at the end of the year to a data analyst. I am not sure what the salary range for a data analyst is at my current job. Should I take the job or wait it out to see what my end of year raise would look like? I really like my job and team so leaving would be tough, but this raise is something to consider.

Hi there! I’m being vetted for a position that I’d have to relocate for, they mentioned they’d pay for relocation. This would be my first role in senior leadership, and I’m just looking for tips on negotiating pay and other components of my offer letter. I’ve previously had an issue where I was brought in way under value, and it took 2 years to get a benchmarking raise. I just want to position myself highly upfront this time. Any ideas other than base pay I could and should negotiate? Thanks!
I received an offer from another agency (Agency B) that's a 15% pay bump, but I am happy at my current agency (Agency A). I have asked Agency A for a raise to match that (not mentioning I had another offer) but it will take them a few weeks to come back to me, and Agency B are wanting a response soon... What do I do? Do I go for the money? Do I tell my boss I have another offer on the table?
How do i go about using a job offer as leverage for a promotion? Possible promotion came up at my review and since then another agency has reached out to me.
Does anyone know when the promotion decisions are announced at PwC? Have been hearing from Accenture and KPMG, sounds a little early to me, but wanted to check if anyone knows, thanks
I expect the EY peeps (in promotion year) who got new jobs will be putting in their notice this week...
Would anyone move to a different firm that is unstable but gives a promotion plus 50% increase for same job?
Where can we check the milestone year? New at Deloitte, hired as Consultant with 6+ YOE. Wanted to know if I would be eligible for promotion next year?
How do you go about asking for more money when you were recently given a raise, but the person directly above you leaves the agency, so you’ll be taking some of their responsibility?
To those divorced / divorcing... is it bad not to finish a divorce without a lawyer especially if you are a male in NYC? I have been drained and I cannot afford anymore. The lawyer is happy to see the other side dragging the case and does not raise the issue with the judge when I tell him to.
Anyone threatened to straight up quit with nothing else lined up as a way to negotiate a raise?
Best exit ops from Big4 IT M&A at director level? Is it possible to get a pay raise when exiting from strategy consulting (total comp) if you're already approaching the higher end of D-level pay band in consulting?
Inquiring for an intern friend; what are the tax starting salaries for a southeast region like Atlanta.
I’m in audit looking to be promoted to senior in July. Wondering if there’s any reason to stay at my firm for that promotion if my goal is to get away from auditing. Thinking I might end up in advisory or even pivot farther away from accounting in general. Does having that senior title on my resume matter?
CAIA or CMT? I do institutional sales for an asset manager. Am graduating in the fall with an MBA from a top 40 school. Would like a designation but dont want to do the CFA. Between the CAIA and CMT: which one is more applicable to asset management, and better status/recognition? appreciate any insight
Guys I have a virtual interview with a company and it’s with 3 people in leadership in a little bit! Any last minute words of wisdom/advice/luck?! Could really use it!
How long after starting a new gig can you request PTO? Started this month but planning a trip in June.
I wanted to know in reality how much does a partner lets say advisory makes on an average other than fixed salary?
Has anybody done reimbursement for marriage based greencard process at Deloitte? When do they reimburse you assuming you got approval? After i get the greencard or once i file everything (with invoices from lawyer and filing fees)? Also are there any rules that we have to stay with the firm after getting the greencard or getting reimbursed?
The list of companies includes a former employer (that was terrible in every way), a former client (that was also terrible), and some big names in the healthcare/pharma and tech industries. I’m going to guess that, like the former employer and former client of mine (which both had atrocious cultures and didn’t care about their people), if a company is refusing to hire people from a state because the state is requiring pay transparency, they probably have a terrible culture, too.
I made the jump to pharma and at first I thought some of the weirder tasks I was given were just the norm for pharma writers. But I can’t shake the feeling that it’s less about my title and more about my gender. I tend to be expected to take notes and relay tasks to my male art director partner and creative director. Like the level of hand holding I have to provide for grown ass men is unnerving. I started this job during quarantine so I haven’t met anyone irl, but is there a way to address it?
Was in process interviewing with one team. Role got internally filled. Recruiter put me in play for another team. Interview did not go well - not really a fit. Can I ask to be put in play for another team or no?
If i’m on third year of H1B but leave for school (for completely different field), can I use the existing H1B when I get a job after graduating from grad school? Or do I need to go through new h1b lottery?
About to have annual comp discussion. What should I expect? Is there any room for negotiation
Yale SOM invitation already? Submitted 3 days ago, just wow. Any advice on prepping? This is my first interview, and I just absolutely bombed the video essay pretty much stammering through and repeating myself the entire time, so really wasn't expecting this... For the record they do rolling, so no need to fret or anything if you yet to receive an invitation.
Who else is spending more time/resources on fitness and skincare so you come out better looking than you did pre-COVID? Are you seeing intended results?
