I still hangout with co-workers from my previous organization. Even i was chilling out with them when working together in past.

Played cricket+badminton with same age coworkers, team lead , project lead , Tech lead and beautiful HR every weekend until covid destroyed the chain ..( it wasn't a company event).

Dated a beautiful coworker 😍 and trust me it's an awesome experience.

Productivity is on another level (in and out of the office)....😀 You know what i mean.

You gotta know this.. it will not end well. At some point you'll wish you hadn't

It's a temporary thing,be friends with your colleagues but at the same time make sure you don't get too much emotionally attached by that I doesn't mean don't help them out in need but make sure if any of them leaves the company you are unaffected by them leaving and can move on too if you are switching to other company,
Moreover some people (not all) are of political mindset they will just pretend be your friend and get all the information out of you while inside their mind they would be competing against you for the appraisal as in some companies only few get better raise than others.

Yes. We had a group of 3. Stayed together, went on trips together. It all depends on the type of person and your tuning with them.

And same happened across multiple organisations with me. So don't worry too much. Just keep communicating with everyone. It may work with someone and may not with others.

I joined as fresher in capgemini and friend with people with whom I had training. We used to go out often together and now all of us are in different towns but we have group calls every weekends. I have been in multiple teams for projects but no one from these teams come close to what I call a friend.

Joined during the pandemic unfortunately so no friends during onboarding 😔

From the same generation, sure why not! Got lots of friends! We hang out too. But from prev gen, strict no

No.

Yes, that’s absolutely natural. You should hang out with colleagues outside office as well. I host and attend regular house parties or plan outings with colleagues. However, be wary if you plan to date someone. That might not end well if both of you are not open minded and cool about working together even after a breakup. I’ve never dated any colleague but have had couple of sleep overs. It’ll been cool since then as it has never come up in our conversation while in office or outside. This is treated as a one time thing and the deal is closed.

I left my last job 3 years ago.
I am still friends with them (3-4 peeps) we meet at least once a month to party and go on a trip 1-2 times a year.

Just do not befriend immediate colleagues as in case of competition there will be problems.

Be rational, do not expect friendship like school/college. You will be fine.
Ps: a lot changed post marriage.

I love my job and the people I work with, but there’s one thing that really bothers me: the lack of diversity. Sometimes when I walk into the office and see everyone else around me as the only POC, it feels kind of weird. I don’t think anyone here has ever said anything racist or sexist to me personally, but I don’t feel comfortable talking about these issues with anyone because they might take it personally and then things could get awkward between us.

Any Deloitte parent here? I’m due early April and wondering when I should tell my team i.e. before the holidays or after. I’ve told my coach but that’s it. I posted this somewhere else before I remembered that I am in this bowl :) so, I changed jobs 6-7 months ago and I am realizing it is not a good fit. Leadership seem to not want to hear the truth so people tell them what they want to hear and if you don’t middle management gets pissed at you. I am seriously thinking about looking somewhere else. My question is how do you answer the “why are you looking to leave” question without bad mouthing your current company?

I recently left private practice (civil litigation) and started an in-house gig that I really love. I am working on a few projects with another attorney who has been in-house for their entire career, but is more senior than I am. I’m experiencing defensiveness from them on assignments that the GC has asked us to work on jointly. I am wondering if anyone has found themselves in a similar situation when making the move in-house. Is there anything I can do to improve the working relationship?

My natural instinct is to assume rejection if I have conflict with a partner or don’t think my feelings are reciprocated. I’ll try to bring it up with them, but I’ll say “if you want to end this feel free” so it doesn’t hurt me (and they can say what they really mean instead of sugarcoating). Someone told me today that they just assume I’m not interested because I always seem to “run” but I’m not sure how to bring up problems/feelings otherwise. How do you approach these hard questions?

On contrary, they hire new people in same team for even upto 100% hike from their previous CTC. Nothing to old employee, but more than expected to new recruit!
