I’m a F in a friends wedding at the end of September in PA. Really on the fence about attending. What would you do? For reference, the wedding should all be outside and will have ~50+ ppl, but me (and several others) traveling from out of state. Got laid off on April 1st with the premise that I would be someone they would bring back if they could with the story about how covid has hurt our business etc. Just found out that they got a PPP loan on April 15th and did not bring back any of the 6 people they laid off and the salaries of everyone else are still cut 20%.

I do not want my job back now but I feel like they should not be able to get away with that.

Got in a spat with my SO. He didn’t want to wake up to drop me to the airport at 330am and said it was unreasonable that I was asking that of him. He helped arrange a taxi service (we’re on vacation). I am still pretty miffed that he thinks he’s in the right to avoid being inconvenienced. I woulda woken up and taken him and it’s not about saving dollars. Sometimes you show love by being willing to be inconvenienced. F here fwiw

Hello hello.

I am getting promoted soon. I work out of the NYC office of a top ten (non B4) firm. I would love some insight on what others in a similar situation were paid as a first year manager or expect to be paid.

I am currently sitting at 92.5k as a senior. Covid killed my most recent raise (for the whole firm). I am consistently getting high ratings.

Thanks in advance!

Hello! When engaging an IP firm, do you ever actively look for the title 'Director' or give it weight over 'Senior Attorney'? I'm discussing an opportunity at a different firm but they don't have the Director title to bridge the gap between Senior and Partner. I'm trying to get my head around whether externally this might look like a demotion and impact opportunities, or whether I just need to suck it up. Grateful for your perspectives.

Hey fishes 👋

I am a manual tester with 7 yoe, I am looking to move to some specialized testing like automation, etl or performance.

Which specialization is better and has scope for the future? Would be helpful if you could suggest the tool, course or certification to take

Freelance Copywriters: Do you charge by the word, hr, project or do you use a day rate? I stay away from per word projects. I typically charge clients by project, but agencies usually ask me for an hourly rate. Lately, I have been wondering if I should use a day rate for projects though. For example, my last client needed a quick turnaround time for multiple campaign deliverables. They had me booked solid and busy for 2 weeks. Do you use a day rate? How is it structured? When do you use it?
