A job a had in a previous industry, blended visual design, web design and a lot of content production.

Is it fair to represent years experience by dividing years I was there by the split of my role?

Like 50% of my role was visual design so that equals X of those years?

In my switch into tech it’s been hard to quantify what my actual years of experience are since I’ve been doing several buckets for 10+ years.

If given an offer with a large base but not a ton of equity (ex: $120k base and equivalent of $10k equity vested per year) at a tech company expected to IPO within a year, would it be wise to ask to exchange cash for equity? Ex: $110k base $20k equity? Put differently, are huge jumps in valuation typical for IPOs, and thus should I try and maximize that component if I’m more than happy with base?
