The partner I have worked under for about six years is retiring. I’ve assisted on a portion of his cases for years, but with the retirement, many of his cases are being transferred to me. My personal caseload will essentially double because of the transition. I am in billable law so this means more hours to bill and work towards my goal/bonus, but do I have grounds to ask for an increase in base pay as well? I make $110k-California insurance defense averaging about 2100-2200 hrs annually. TYIA.

What’s the consensus on tattoos in the insurance workplace? I’m in leadership and considering exploring my options due to recent personnel changes. I work remote and have arm sleeves, and any time I would be in-person I’d of course wear a long sleeve shirt to be professional, but worry about a cuff rolling up and tattoos being somewhat visible. Everyone agreed to the form of the settlement, which didn't explicitly leave space for notarization. I returned a copy of the agreement signed (not not notarized) by my client. Defense counsel has that we re-execute/notarize, and I personally don't see what the big deal is, but the client spent the morning yelling at me about how much he's being inconvenienced by this

I feel like my husband wants to be a good partner but can’t multitask. He loves the baby and does have things in the house he “owns”. I really appreciate your advice. My husband was diagnosed with bipolar last year. He became really abusive. He says mean stuff in-front of my 4 yr old, curses infront of her.

Nanny is great with our toddler but our young infant always seems to be screaming her head off at her. Should this be fixable? Or should I just start looking for a new nanny?
