I am. Our daycare has good procedures in place to protect the children. It was a difficult decision but at the end of the day it would be worse if were to lose our jobs. For comfort, I recommend buying a thermometer and oximeter to keep at home. It helps me since I know that I can see if something is wrong even if he can’t communicate to me. Some children are also mature enough to wear masks for the whole day.

We are actually sending both our toddler and newborn. Spouse has to go into the office and with busy season there is no way could keep watching both. It's a hard and scary decision to have to make, but I will say the toddler and us are better for it. He stopped napping and was throwing several tantrums but has been a lot better now that he has been going. Just make sure the day care/school is following safe procedures. Ours checks Temps every day and asks questions about contact, sends kids home that show any signs of being sick so it even seems kids are coming home with less illnesses than before. They also wash hands and teachers wear masks all day.

We tried but unfortunately the toddler brought home daycare germs (even with extreme precautions) and the baby ended up sick. it wasn’t covid but it was stressful while we waited for our test results. we decided it was time for a nanny. We’re bursting at the seams in our house since my husband is also wfh but I’m extremely happy with our decision (and had previously been anti nanny because my toddler loves daycare).

I'm considering a job change from my well regarded commercial litigation firm to a more relaxed, WFH ID firm. My current billable requirement is 2000, but for partnership it seems to be 2200+. There's no work from home, and there's an old fashioned dress code. I like the complexity of the work I do, but I don't want to kill myself to make a living. Plus, my current salary is below market, so a move would come with a significant raise. Is it crazy to give up prestige for a better life?

Hi RE Bowl, advice needed and appreciated! We have about 30% equity in primary resi and 100% equity in an investment property, which have about the same cash value. We want to buy a new primary resi in the 1.5-2M range. We are short on down payment and PMI is not offered on jumbo loan. We don't want to sell the current primary resi before closing the new house (don't want to move out or rush the selling process). Do you think it's a good idea to do cash out refinance on the investment property?
