You're correct. It is comical. But then again it doesn't surprise me when our education system is ran as a business rather than a public service.

It would surprise me if there was an any implementation of some of the lessons we learned during the past year. I just don't see it happening, but then maybe I'll be proven wrong (which wouldn't be a bad thing.)

Education is suppose to be about learning, reflection and growth. I find it comical that school systems do not do what they espouse.

The district I teach in (Franklin) and the district I live in (Durham) will have virtual academies full time next year and it sounds like they will be permanent.

Learn from mistakes? You'd have to acknowledge them first, my district leadership doesn't make mistakes, just ask them.

We were already in the process of redesigning our high school structure and student experience, so while the pandemic put that temporarily on hold, it has also shaped the end trajectory and what we know is possible. I'm sorry to hear that your school isn't trying to make any changes. Maybe there are small changes from lessons you learned that you can implement in your own classroom or within your department?

Anyone else have a personal and/or work space that’s just absolute chaos?
