Take the offer from the non-MBB (you can always renege if the MBB offer comes later).
I did this and thank goodness I took that decision. The offer from my dream firm never came true.
A bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush.
Can you contact the recruiter and let them know you've received another offer? Tell them they're your first choice and you're eager to get to the next step, but you're not sure whether to wait or take the offer. Sometimes that can help get the process moving a bit faster. Either way, you'll have more clarity to be able to make a more informed decision.
Long time ago, this happened to me. Move on. They don’t like to say no, esp to senior people. I had 3 rounds and feedback had been positive. But then it was a drag to get the next round set up. Was told “just some internal alignment” needed, and feedback had been great. Then Covid happened. Take the other offer if you like it. Don’t wait, esp in this Econ environment. Likely hiring is just on hold
Np. It certainly wasn’t the greatest feeling but now I get it. Recruiting senior folks from outside is just complex. Curious to follow your Journey though if you do hear back. Or take the other offer. 🤞🍀
