Is Big 4 still recruiting experienced hires in consulting? I don’t think D is but what about Pwc, EY, Kpmg?

In the UK they’ve hired technical roles like Microsoft dynamics solution architects

Yes but more likely as SC level (unless of course the experienced hire did work in consulting before)

Kpmg has hired a handful of people into my group - but all are high priority asks directly from a client that isn’t going anywhere.

Interviewing at EY, so it seems they are hiring

I recently got a verbal from B4 firm but have yet to receive the written (going on 2 weeks now). I have recently received another verbal offer from a different B4 firm. How should I negotiate with the original firm for more $? What would you say? This is my first time switching jobs so fairly new.

Best and worst of the Big 4? Serious inquiry, not here to make fun of KPMG or hype one up... And please provide why TIA :)

Deloitte is to consulting what KPMG is to accounting. The rest of the big 4 are the Grant Thorntons of consulting. Don’t @ me.

I joined B4 after college in 2019 and ever since working as QA, mainly manual/ functional testing. Can't see any progress work wise in same projects/teams. Before job, I wasn't a complete nerd but I did have some sense of programming so I wish to use that in my real life work in future. Can someone suggest how should I use my spare time so as to not be stuck in manual testing or testing itself? I'm somewhat lost when thinking of career progression after maybe next 5 years.

Hi everyone. What is the typical interview process like for tech Bizops roles? Are the case interviews similar to the ones we do in the consulting industry with the scenario based on the company we’re interviewing for? Thanks in advance.

Spinoff question... I know FMLA technically only covers you if you've worked for 12 months at your employer but has anyone actually had their employer say "sorry you we only here for 10 months so you can take your two weeks of accrued vacation, after that we'll expect you back." ? Since FMLA is unpaid anyway, I would imagine most employers would at least let you have unpaid time off.

What’s the correlation between compensation & happiness? I have never been a very happy person (depressed from time to time) and my comp is only 150k. What compensation do I need to reach so that I can become immediately happy? 200k, 300k, 500k?

Friendly late 20s woman fish here who hasn’t been feeling good enough to be in consulting or run a business. I don’t know what’s going on but even with all of my accomplishments I feel worthless. I’m in therapy so I’m sure there’s a rainbow somewhere but I’m wondering if anyone else has felt like this and what you’ve done to get past it?
