So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

Finished interviewing for an ATS role at Microsoft Wednesday. The interviewers said they were recommending me but I haven’t gotten any feedback from the recruiter. I’m at PwC S& and in consulting I always got at least a verbal yes day of or next day after interviewing. Does anyone know how long this usually takes? Do you get a verbal first or do they wait to have a contract?

If you have work life balance and like where you are, I think you’ve answered your question.
Also, does your current firm provide you upward mobility?
Stick with what makes you happy
NO. I was in the same exact thought process. I worked for a saas with a culture that almost loved work life balance so much. I had better health benefits there too. It was a positive culture and had team bonding activities (on site too). I thought I needed it on my resume and now I’m dying to get out.
If you’re happy I don’t see a reason to leave, but if you plan on exiting to industry just know a Big 4 name could open more doors. Really depends on your goals. I left big 4 for a boutique and couldn’t be happier with the decision, but I went into that knowing I was going to be limiting my exit opps down the road.
Do you suspect your W/L balance change as you grow with your role? If so I hope your comp stays competitive. For resume, I guess it depends on what you want in the future as well.
