I think it is perfectly fine! It’s a complex carb and helps you feel full longer. Our lifestyle in US involves being less active and on top of that, we all do desk jobs, which isn’t that good either. Personally, I’ve seen great numbers in my annual medical exams after moving away from white carbs like rice, maida etc. I love white rice and still eat it once a week. One thing I’ll say though, your stomach might take a couple of weeks to adjust to all that fiber. Personally, I felt a lot more lighter, energetic and sharper once I moved to Whole Foods based diet and eliminated sugar. Try it for a few weeks before giving up.

I think it’s better than white but it doesn’t live up to the health hype that some people expect from it. I personally love quinoa, and I think it’s one step healthier than brown rice!
Agree with BCG1, brown rice has a lower glycemic index than white rice and will help you feel full longer. I also add farro to our rice cooker (so I’ll do like 1.5 cups of brown rice and 1/2 a cup of farro) which is also supposed to be healthier than white rice. Cutting back on white rice (save it for special occasions) has helped me lose some weight (about 5lbs).

Add half a cup of skinless moong daal to 1.5 cup of white rice to increase the fiber. You can also donate same with brown rice. I do not like the taste of brown rice so I cheat with white rice and moong daal.
