I've worked at the same engineering firm for 4 years. I'm currently making $161k with only a $750 bonus, but excellent vacation (4 weeks, cash out anytime, rolls over indefinitely), 45 hours a week. I have an interview with a recruiter at Guidehouse this week for a Technical Project Manager role. It seems to be focused in the government space and requires a security clearance. What sort of salary and benefits could I expect for this sort of role at Guidehouse?

Investment banking and private equity probably pays more too
It is one of the higher paying jobs, especially at an MBB or T2 with a candisn presence (Keanrey, Oliver Wyman, and maybe a small number of others). At these firms, you can be at 200K+ by the time you're 25. Not many other jobs would have you at that level at that age.
Medicine, IB, top tier consulting seem to pay the highest. Big law salaries aren't as high in Canada as in the US.

No one ever tells anyone consulting pays the most. It's doctor or lawyer or wall street kids or the geek coder. Idk who told you consulting, but you've been lied to buddy.

Honestly sales in the right industries is up there. Salesmen can easily make 6 figures and some 7, but it takes a specific mindset
This. Sales anywhere can make tons. But way more volatile and, like you said, a certain mindset. I’ve seen everything from recruiters, to solar salesman, to software sales make 7 figures when the stars align for a good year.
