Hey folks,
I have Decision Scientist offer from Fractal (15+2JB)
And Senior Analyst (Data Science) from Tiger Analytics (15.5+1JB)
Which shall be a better choice in terms of Data Science learning?
I suspect Decision Scientist shall be more towards consulting and less towards development.
Anybody has any inputs that can help?

Hello ... may be i can give a better perspective..
Me did my masters in data science and bigdata from a premier college and into data science from last 5.5years still getting 20lpa(only one switch till)
Been into core ml, dl ,iiot projects also familiar with devops and productioning code.. and i cant agree the statement you said getting 50lpa mostly.... may be there a few people whole made multiple switches and capitalized this great company switch period.
But i do say sdes and data scientists are getting paid almost same..
Well, i partially agree with you.
I agree that it’s much difficult for a person starting to get job in actual data science and thus one should give a serious thought about what field they wanna choose (also DS involves heavy amount of mathematics, so be mentally prepared for that if you choose to be in this field)
And any-day a SWE is a necessity as compared DS which is a luxury for a org (At least till today, that is the case)
Now i disagree that developers get paid more than DS.
The discrepancy you see in market among 7-8 and 3-5 YOE has always been there. Its our industry trend. Freshers get paid more and experienced a bit less (ask a 7-8 YOE SWE too).
One major reason of the great resignation trend going on.
So why should you take my opinion seriously.
Well, i think my credentials are right to give you real picture :
5 YOE DS - 47 LPA
@ Gojek 1 Can you share the company you work for and the profile that you have?? have you done multiple switches to reach this level??
Maybe it's still a nascent field and you'll see better compensation moving forward as companies figure out how to effectively implement data science projects. Mismatch in tech stack of data scientist and devops are current hurdles I see.
Getting top notch salaries are depends on the college you studied
