Is doing a back door Roth for people in higher brackets? I currently have a ROTH IRA I fund with after tax money. I make 75k.

Yes, back door Roth is for those contributing to a standard IRA then moving into Roth. If you’re contributing directly to Roth by virtue of being within the income threshold, you wouldn’t use this route

Not higher tax brackets, per se, but rather “above the income threshold to contribute to a Roth and above the threshold to receive Traditional tax deduction benefits”

I contributed 6K to a traditional IRA last year by mistake - turned out to be non-deductible. It’s grown to 6.7k. I filed my returns for last year it’s all good. Now this year -
1. can I convert the 6.7k to Roth IRA right now using back door? What are the tax implications?
2. Does it make more sense to put additional 6k for this year into traditional IRA again and THEN do backdoor of approx 12.7k into Roth immediately?

Also, who should I contact for actual professional advice on this? I don’t want to pay a ton.

From a taxation perspective, will fidelity (my brokerage) generate the appropriate documents and I can file accordingly right?

Consider a Mega Back Door Conversion if D allows you to contribute to after tax 401k. Check it out.
