Use The Ordinary brand! Cheap and effective
I like all their serums! I actually don't know why they don't have the clean label since I don't look for that. Now I know that clean labels exist for skincare and makeup I'll be more conscious next time! Thanks M1!
Not really, though I swear by the glycolic night serum. Other than that, The Ordinary has some great products and you really can't beat the price point.
Yep! It makes my skin very smooth, even after using it just once. Now when I use it, it seems to make my skin glow a bit more the next day. I also found it to help with any scars I had from acne as a teen. I bought it with a 25% off coupon and wish I bought more! Though as a disclosure, I also got the summer Riley Vitamin C and started using the two around the same time period so the glow could be a mix of both.
It’s not ... some great marketing. I didn’t notice any difference when compared to cheaper products

I never spent money on skin care prior to using DE. I used drugstore brands, or maybe some Clinique, or free trials of stuff I got through Birchbox back in the day. I now exclusively use DE and do not have enough good things to say about it. I go makeup free often, I have visibly reduced fine lines on my forehead, my skin is clear and bright. I’m 32 and began investing in my skin care around 30, and found drunk elephant to be worth it. Also, a little goes a very long way with them, and you can mix and match to prolong them. For example, I asked for some for Christmas and they lasted me over a year. So.. in that case I don’t think they’re overpriced.
Rising Star
drunk elephant is really good. But if you are just starting out in skin care there are other products that do the job at a lower price point. Take a peek at Kiel’s and The Ordinary
Kiehl’s is not cheap and pricing is same as Drunk Elephant , The ordinary is.
Sounds like as with any beauty product YMMV. I use the green DE moisturizer and marula oil, The Ordinary buffet serum, and no AHA/BHA or retinols. I think my skin looks a little better than some coworkers, but it’s 90% genes. Have pivoted heavily towards more “clean” and natural skincare in the past 5 years and wouldn’t trade off even if it means I could look a couple years younger with more chemicals 🤷🏻♀️
I really like it. I was sceptical at first but it's been great. I used to use Clinique and my skin was always dry on my face. Since using drunk elephant I haven't had that problem anymore.
I started exfoliating in the shower and I use drunk elephant and it seems to have solved the dryness. I think the moisturizer I was using before wasn't hydrating enough.
+1 for The Ordinary. I like many of their products, and their vitamin c is no exception.
Here is their AHA BHA: https://theordinary.deciem.com/product/rdn-aha-30pct-bha-2pct-peeling-solution-30ml?redir=1
I personally like Skinceuticals and think drunk elephant is a trendy thing (not knocking the quality, I haven’t used it, people say good things though). Quality fade products are indeed expensive!
Used their Vitamin C. Unimpressed. Didn’t do anything for me.
I’m not new to skin care, I actually use prescription stuff from the dermatologist (retinoids.) but want to incorporate some of the over the counter stuff
Their vitamin C serum gave me rash every time I try to use it, never happen with any other brand’s C serum even with higher percentage. But maybe it’s just me tho
Paula’s Choice
I love dermalogica products. DE was ok, nothing special. Boscia is also great for cleansers and exfoliating.
I use a prescription retinol at night followed by La Roche Posay hyaluronic acid (you can buy this in Walgreens for $30) and use cerave vitamin C serum in the morning and have noticed SUCH a difference in my skin from the two over the counter products
Oh wow I LOVE cerave I didn’t know they had a vit c serum!!
In addition to actives, these are 2 holy Grail products in my routine:
