I’ve long disliked the term ethics. Definitions of ethics all refer to morals. Morals are very personal and vary a lot from person to person, culture to culture. Law is how we as a society express our preferences and impose rules and restrictions on ourselves. So the question should never be about whether companies can be ethical. What does that mean? One person thinks eating meat is unethical, another thinks it’s perfectly ethical. Companies should focus on complying with the law.
Little sister is starting her internship soon. Will be making some decent money. What financial advise can I share with her? Should she open an IRA account or any other account? Will have about $20k-$25k in student loans when she graduates college. Very minimal savings so far
If you get fired from Deloitte (or similar), what would they say in a background check? Would they say “would not rehire” or something like that? Anyone have any issues with this?
Why diversity is important in the workplace
Working in Europe temporarily. Have an option to do Executive MBA, it’s around 70-90k Euros for an year. Another option I have is doing part time PhD in Management. It’s around 35-40k Euros for 4 years. Any thoughts on which one would be more useful? Currently work in a T2 in their digital practice. Had plans of shifting to MBB 3-4 years back but lost interest after
I read on Management Consulted that OW don't specifically recruit post-MBA. How accurate is that?
I’m between jobs, no longer have health insurance, & w/out a definitive start date. Really concerned what my options are going to be if I happen to get sick... anyone else in the same boat?!
Anyone have a prior infection and then feel worse after the vaccine? I did j&j 5 days ago as a “booster” (rode natural antibodies) and have been having weird mild chest pains and dizzy / light headed since then. I felt awful the day after the jab (worse than my worst day when I had covid) and figured once that went away I would be fine but the chest pain and dizziness hasn’t gone away.
I’m on vacation (only 3 days) - how do I stop looking at my email and thinking about all the work I’ll come back to?!
Before I graduated uni I interviewed with Pega and it was damn hard but I nailed it…until the final stage was dinner with a few others at a Thai restaurant. I quietly enjoyed my curry, not realizing I was supposed to be selling myself throughout the meal too. Took me a few years to realize what I messed up - I flew home so confident too. Haha
Does anyone know if their firm has any inclusion initiatives around hiring individuals with special needs as part of a transition program? For example, when offices are open, having individuals be employed by the firm and help with more administrative tasks such as helping to get conference rooms set up for events, assisting visitors, etc.? My younger brother has special needs so am trying to help my parents look for a few options and was wondering if any of the consulting firms have this!
It’s been a grueling 18 months, for everyone. There’s a unique story I’d like to share and it’s my own but I have to believe it’s not only mine. I was privileged enough to be able to WFH during the pandemic and change jobs to a fully remote job during this time. The isolation has become so complete, with the lack of connection and professional rapport or daily respect/clarity thru slack convos and sporadic zoom - I’m at an all time mental low barely able to start this Monday morning.
Hey folks, Has anyone transferred their H1B to another employer? How did it go, eg did you need to stop working / leave the country/ anything else? How long does it take? Anyone with a Green card in process - has it affected you in any way? Thanks!
