Eh depends what you’re coming from. The town isn’t quite as focused on the university as something like Athens, GA or Ann Arbor. I would think of it more like a suburbs town with some restaurants and businesses “down town”. Kellogg students have their spots (regularly rented out whole bars and stuff), but one of the biggest advantages is proximity to Chicago. I see Evanston as a lovely place to escape city hustle and bustle while still having access (source: was NU undergrad)

I have lived in Evanston and think it’s a great town- there are tons of good restaurants and it’s easily walkable. In terms of shopping, downtown Evanston has more boutiques than big names, but there is a Target for essentials. Right in downtown Evanston you can easily access both the El and the Metra to get into Chicago quickly for even more bars / night life or upscale shopping.

Hey everyone, so my sister and her boyfriend have both gained about 60-70 pounds since COVID started. I’m getting very concerned for them and I’ve seen firsthand how they’re developed awful eating and drinking habits and they hardly ever exercise. I’m very concerned for them, but I have no idea how to talk about it with them and not make them angry or hurt. Any advice on how to have this difficult conversation?

I have an in person hearing scheduled in the cd Cal district court in the coming weeks. Im a nervous wreck mostly because I haven’t been to any court in person since the pandemic and have forgotten all the little things, like the logistics of getting myself to the hearing (where I park, where to go, etc) and now what new Covid protocols to follow. Anyone else experiencing these worries and does anyone have any tips for me?

Anyone go through a period of just feeling low/blah/numb? I'm sure it's exacerbated by COVID restrictions. I hadn't experienced this feeling until the last few months of 2020. Any suggestions for shaking the "funk"? (I don't think I am capital D Depressed, although I have never felt this way before so am not entirely sure) Edit: In case it's relevant, recent blood work was normal except for slight vitamin D deficiency - taking a supplement at dr.'s suggestion. On oral BC but have been for years.

One thing I wish parents knew about teaching online is:

I’m surprised how many SF developers, 9 out of 10, do not know the out of box functional capabilities of the Salesforce platform and what the standard objects are. All I see are a bunch of custom objects and apex triggers as their default design. Is it right time to almost have a functional and a technical consultant like SAP where the functional does all the functional design, configuration and mapping to what are available natively while tech does all the coding?
