EY doesn’t understand what WLB is

likefunny

I can never imagine wlb can be more worse in any organization. At consultant level they dont pay well and expect us to do each and every thing. 16-17 hours a day is normal and all weekends.

like

That depends upon what is your current CTC. Also WLB is just okay!

WLB at EY. It's still a dream for me 😂😂😂 and many of colleagues have same experience 😅 anyways enjoy maadi 👍👍

Imagine our CEO had broadcasted that we shouldn’t work past “8 pm” itself came as a surprise while official hours end at 6 PM… it’s deemed that we all are working for 12 hours “everyday” and “usually” though weekends are relaxed you’ll only for a couple of hours…

like

Interesting han.... 'just couple of hours on weekends is light' ...such low expectations we have become comfortable with😂

WLB is a myth. Maybe it depends on your project and team but I've always been into projects that have crazy deadlines and expectations that exceed acceptable working hours.

Most colleagues and friends have quit after a not so great experience. Personally know a guy with 13 year experience with 48 LPA package in NCR. EY NCR is famous for lowballing

like

28 lpa for 12 YoE is too low! I have 6.5 YoE with 25+3 lpa package.

I'm a 6th year attorney in NYC. Strictly defense work; started out with the City Law Dept, did a year and a half of med mal/construction, and for past year and a half have been at a well known defense firm working on high exposure construction accident cases. Contemplating taking a couple interviews at plaintiff's firms to see if there is a good fit. Does anyone have any advice on how approach discussions about compensation and what a market level comp package would or should look like?

I am looking to drop my series 7 and join an RIA. I’ve finally accepted that the BD environment is a terrible fit for me. I would like to join an RIA team because I’m just over 5 years in and I would like to have some mentors to continue learning from, but if I can’t find the right fit then my plan is to launch my own. Where to start looking for an established RIA? I have not completed my CFP yet.

Media folks, at what level of your career should you consider jumping client side? Folks at client side, what’s the pros and cons of client side vs. agency?

Currently working as SM2 at PwC and interviewing with KPMG for a D position. Is is a good comparison in terms of designation? How’s the comp for D in KPMG? T2 city here. I have been with EY in the past and can vouch PwC offered a better WLB and culture. Always heard KPMG has better WLB and culture. Is it just a speculation or have some truth in it? Strategic Advisory FSS role, 8.5 YOE, masters.

Been severely struggling with depression and anxiety lately. Obviously this job is one big reason why. I opened up to the partner a few months back about it when I started missing random days when I couldn’t get out of bed. Maybe 2/3 days over the last 4 months total. This week he sat me down and told me he is worried about my mental health causing me to be a “liability” to the firm. I can’t stop thinking about this and don’t know how to turn it around.

Been on a long year+ freelance contract at an agency. Took a much lower hourly rate with the promise of converting to FT staff after 3 months. Due to Covid that timing got pushed (understandably) but I recently learned the FT role is not available until 2022 earliest. Got a new freelance offer after 1 day of reaching out at my regular day rate. What to do?

Daddy D is throwing around some pretty crazy referral bonuses right now. If I can hit four referrals, I’ll split evenly among all four + myself. Up to $10k per person and at least $2.5k per person. Put it in escrow and everything. So if you’re looking to change firms, a new opportunity, etc. DM me. Can easily negotiate a nice sign on bonus, and my offer should sweeten the pot.

Does anyone know of where to find remote part time work opportunities for older Indian women? My mom was a part-time after school teacher but has not been doing that due to covid (dad is high risk). I’m having her do some online typing lessons to get her to be a faster typer, maybe find her a data entry gig. She does not want to do nanny’ing / babysitting. She’s a great teacher though and she’s trilingual (Telugu, hindi) - anyone know of where to find opportunities?
