I would drive to Sanibel or Captiva for the weekend
Thats the shell beach right ? It looked sooo beautiful 😍! Definitely on my list ! Thankyou :)
Miami is probably the worst city in Florida to go to if you are looking to relax
Yes, no reason to drive all the way to Miami. Hit up Doc Fords, Ft Myers Beach, Marco Island, Captiva, Lovers Key SP, Sanibel. I do weekend trips to this area all the time, it is great for 48 hours. Hyatt Regency Coconut point resort you could do 48hrs just at resort. Has waterpark and private island ferry if you got points to blow
Totally second sanibel and or captiva. You are never far from the beach so even if you’re not ocean front you’re a quick drive or bike ride from a public beach. These islands are very relaxed (no boardwalk situation, no high rise condos filled with tourists, no chain hotels or restaurants). They are obviously more crowded “in season” (winter), but it won’t be your typical spring break location crazy.
I'm in Mid West & hence planning the escape 😂! I can relate to what you mean :) !
Also recommend Sarasota and Siesta Key.
Just here to also wholeheartedly recommend Captiva and Sanibel. US news just named them one of the 50 most beautiful places in the world. There is nothing that fits your #beach #lowkey hashtags better!
