Newbie question here. Trying to understand why Roth is so popular vs Traditional 401k. If you retire and start drawing from your 401k (which is ordinary income for tax purposes), surely that income will be less than what you made the last year before you retired. So your tax rate will be lower post-retirement. So Traditional 401k should make more sense. What am I missing?

Everyone has heard the excuse “I’m underperforming because my territory sucks”. What if you can prove that you are objectively being screwed by the territory you inherited? There’s only so much “find a way” you can manage in barren land and it’s quite tiresome to see your peers succeed off of less than half the effort. I work at a scale up, I have lots of options and stand to make some decent money if we get bought. But from what I can see there is no chance of us getting bought. B2B SaaS, 25% churn, 692 customers, 11M ARR, no product market fit, lots of tech debt, and things seem to be getting worse. We got a series A at $20M and a series B at $20M a year and a half later. Any insight for me?

What is it like recruiting into LMM - MM PE from a non top tier IB. It has a growing presence on the street but still doesn’t have the prestige. That said, I should get some pretty solid exposure. I’m in the TMT group which has done a pretty good amount of M&A work historically (however that may change with market conditions the way they are)
