Is getting a small, simple nose ring/stud an issue if you’re client facing? I’m starting FT in January but I’ve heard mixed comments. Will it be a problem as I move up? I’ve been meaning to get it since forever but now I’m unsure…

I have a small stud nose ring and no one has said anything. I’ve even seen people with multiple ear piercings, pink hair etc It’s alright - as long as it’s elegant and classy (I have a tiny diamond stud on my nose) and not too out there - it’s fine. You shouldn’t compromise on your self expression. It’s just a job :)

I have a sleeve of tattoos and a nose piercing. Choosing to cover up my tattoos/ take out my nose ring honestly depends on my client. You have to make judgement calls. I don’t think it should be an issue for you.

I have a colleague who is a partner and has one; she has never worn it to work. Since becoming partner a couple years ago, she doesn’t even wear it outside of work much anymore either. Personally I wouldn’t risk it, but I’m conservative, introverted, and have a classic style - it just wouldn’t fit me at all.

Sometimes if it’s something quick that they want me to do they won’t tell me the client number unless I ask and it feels like some of them don’t like that I ask...isn’t billing the whole point???

Only after 5 weeks I am going to join TCS. In my offer letter it is mentioned I am selected at "TCS Kolkata"; but till now I have not received any information/details/call related to my project yet. As selected in a drive panel so hence no clue about the roles and responsibilities. Infact not receiving any proper response from contact points (I understand there may be some protocol that client/project details will not be revealed before joining). Is there anyway I could get atleast some details?

I'm so thankful that EY has not made the Covid19 Vaccination a condition of employment and they allow work from home to remain an option. Such a great employer. I don't want the government or my employer to dictate what happens to my body, we must always have freedom of choice. That is one of the things that makes US a wonderful place to live. To all who received the vaccine I'm happy you had that option. I will wait a few years until there is enough vaccine data before I put it in my body.
