No, getting in was a breeze but the job is tough, at least in my experience

I doubt it. If I had spent 140 hours prepping for M I would have likely made it through my interviews. Once you start though you’re doing 70 hours a week for a long haul.

Agreed that’s on the high end of interview prep investment, but at the same time, if that’s too much effort to put in then the job would be absolutely not worth it/much harder

Lol no - i wish that were the case. I know Ivy League undergrad / law schools are fond of saying that the hardest part is getting in. Definitely not the case with MBB.
It’s different meanings of “hard”
Getting the job is harder in the sense of “only x% of people are able do this”. Many apply but relatively few succeed.
Doing the job is gruelling on an hours basis and much more tough on a day to day. But ~80-90% of people who get hired are at least somewhat successful at it.

I read “is getting in the mob harder”. I don’t know firsthand but would guess harder in some ways
