Why would that ever be a bad idea?

OG is volatile and they hire and fire regularly but it’s not usually an issue for lawyers in house. What kind of rope are you taking? Like an AGC? If so, should be fine. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Engineering is behind and I need them to put in extra hours to meet the deadline. They're pushing back that scope is too broad but they've been slacking. How do I call them out and not make enemies?

Two of my longest friendships in my hometown are starting to bug me; they’re always cracking jokes to make me look weird, incompetent, not “fit in” with my own friends when I introduce them. I’m starting to notice it more and more, but they’ll say how my friends are awesome because they don’t care what people think and are oddballs, yet point out my “weird” characteristics as if it’s a way to bond with my other friends. Should I laugh it off or be offended? I’m starting to lean toward the latter

My husband never reads and wants to start reading as a new hobby. What is a good book that you would recommend for a 40 year old man? Not self help books, but maybe something with action. I think he would like the Bourne series, but he saw all the movies so he's not interested, but something similar.

I'm an in-house counsel at a national company. Our GC is leaving. I’m the only other in-house attorney, and I’ve only been here for 4 months. I like the job. Previously, I was a 6th-year associate.
The CEO asked me to stay and implied a larger role, but doesn't have a clear picture of what that looks like. Asked for my help in redefining. Even unsure as to timing or whether we'll hire another GC. Questions for Fishbowl: (1) benefits or pitfalls? (2) questions or requests you'd have for CEO?

My new firm has a large real estate deal practice. There is one regulatory portion that they refer out because they don’t have the expertise. I have that expertise and want to develop a team to handle. What are your thoughts on origination? They’re not my clients but it’s a new line of income for the firm. Yes, I know the “talk to them about it” answer, but I’m more interested in how other firms handle these situations. Also, I’m not a partner.
