Is going into equity sales a joke? I feel like every other sales job is better, please share any thoughts

All retail banking roles will be eliminated in the next 20 years, only high net worth individuals will continue to rely on human investment advisors.

As long as it’s not the basic lowest tier retail it should be fine

I am guessing you mean institutional equity sales? It comes down to which asset class you are most interested in. But ultimately, it’s mastering the art of sales. That skill will be valuable and interchangeable down the road.

Intellectually, it’s probably less challenging than derivatives/structured products, fixed income, and fx/commodities sales.

Job won’t exist in 20 years is my guess

I am underpaid as an ACD. Took this job to get out of a bad situation. I was on PiP in December partially because I was struggling mentally and with family issues but have been crushing it since. How long until I can ask for a raise without having my struggles thrown in my face?

How is the risk practice at MBB? Do you work on the same work as big 4 risk? Where do most people come from.. ie ex big 4, internally trained, ex bankers etc. What would help a candidate from a big 4 risk transition to a position in risk at mbb? I'm going to be entering a big 4 in risk, but would like to switch to mbb at some point in my life.

San Jose, Costa Rica vs Bogota, Columbia for a long weekend solo trip? Which one is better?

Do MBB provide new hires with a stipend to setup a home office?

We’re all on different points of our fertility journeys…today I’m thankful for the support, knowledge-sharing and camaraderie between the people on this bowl. Although we may never meet, your presence has helped navigate through this difficult process. Thank you.

Client was 30 min late to our call, and says I'll join "now", 5 minutes into the call, his phone rings and he says wait a second until I'm done. Never shows up. 😐🔫

Senior Consultant in Miami salary range?? Any idea..??

Going to Chicago for work. Would it be okay to expense a winter coat if I’m from a warm climate and don’t have one?

This may be a silly q, how do you know if an interview went well?

A and M partner/managing director TAS annual gross salary? Did not think it was over 1m annual but some posts in this forum have me thinking otherwise.

Anyone have insight into Simon-Kucher & Partners vs. Kx Advisors for a summer internship?

I'm getting my MBA from the University of Arizona, how prestigious is the AACSB accreditation? And do MBB or Big 4 Consultant firms care about it?

I’m a third year tax associate with my LLM. I left the IRS for a small boutique M&A firm that had a great reputation in my region. I have been at the firm for 3 weeks and I just found out that 2 of the 4 partners are leaving and taking a bunch of the senior associates with them. The only tax partner is leaving to go in-house and semi retire. I am going to be the only tax associate at the firm. So what’s the play here, look for a way out as fast as possible or ride it out for the time being?

How much is my compensation subject to change based on stock prices? Could it be as bad as half of what I am originally awarded? I don't understand how it works if I'm awarded RSUs - how do they guarantee the amount?

I thought I was interested in data science but I don’t care too much for the technical side of things. I am not sure what role or title I could transition to but some guidance would be nice… I’m interested in: - coming up with creative ways to make “things” better - little to no coding - interacting with colleagues with ability to mentor or manage - travel when necessary (25%) - remote work - ownership and autonomy of work - high visibility role Any ideas on what role would fit me?

How much should the salary be (more or less) for a manager with more than 10+ of experience in the risk and compliance space. ??? Have most years of experience in industry and 2 in consulting. Trying to figure out if I’m underpaid 😑

Put in my two weeks notice at Accenture... haven't received any communication back from HR and my last day is tomorrow. No exit interview or laptop return scheduled. What's the typical process?
