Yes Goodwin is a great firm for corporate and M&A in particular. A lot of folks from my old firm lateraled there as associates and three made partner. They are happy

Goodwin for years has had a ton of work and has minted a ton of partners (and still seems to have relatively a lot of work per partner). If you want good partnership prospects that is basically the ideal scenario. That said there are some lifestyle downsides to the lot of work thing which are basically inextricable from the good partnership prospects thing.

Good firm, tons of middle market deals, not enough associates so the associates they have get crushed but are otherwise happy.
One of the best firms in Boston. Smaller but growing satellite office in DC. Would choose Boston over DC.
Where would you be lateraling from?

Great firm but they burn people out FAST
Even during good years before Covid, Goodwin laid off many associates once their client settled a big case. Also if you are a POC or less attractive white woman, you might not find the place welcoming.
