Sooo... Living a fine life. Make good salary, have a nice apartment and stuff. Somehow, I mean, being by now a mid thirty female I feel like I have failed (at least regarding this point, don't know how to proceed? (I mean, I am a 34yr old, successful person, but even though I managed having good relationships until I turned 30, by now I just seriously feel old.) Colleagues have either met their match years ago or are incompetent of relationships
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
Currently I am working in India but want to move in UK or Germany. Could someone suggest me few companies which hires people from India. Current Role - Senior Software Engineer Exp - 5.5 Years

Consulting is burning me at both ends of the wick and I need to be somewhere I can sustainably contribute, learn and grow. It’s hard to search when you’re working till 1am. A bit about myself: -3 yoe, mainly tech pm & scm work via consulting -degree in SCM and info sys, cert. scrum master -environment/culture is very important to me, good people, reasonable hours, etc.

MBB 🐠 — Do you think M7 (non HSW) networks/exit opps are significantly better than the networks/exit opps from MBB? Or on par?
Ethical question: would you try to negotiate a raise in current job if you know you’re actively looking elsewhere? Context: had an incredibly challenging year with a huge project that completed successfully. Extremely complex tasks and long hours. Got an award for “disruption” but in summary, the role evolved and now I want to ask for market adjustment /as well as merit raise. I also hate what I do at the moment and can’t wait to leave, but might take months. Should I still ask for a raise?

Both husband and I are consultants and our hours are so unpredictable. Nanny can come 8 hours a day. I’m in a small, close knit bar. I love my firm (not biglaw) and the people I work with but I really, truly hate billing hours. I am interviewing with a boutique firm that does not track billables and has a great rep for work/life balance. I’m excited at the prospect of more $ for less time, but will also feel guilty to leave my firm after they spent significant resources over the past few years “raising” me, only to lose me. Tell me I’m being silly and that this won’t burn bridges.
Advice needed: company I admire contacted me for an interview (PM/Program Manager role). They were acquired in the spring and no longer offer equity. The role is very much a role for a startup tho, think small team - lots to organize & scale. When i asked salary range they said it’s decided after interview process. What would you say is a reasonable salary to ask for? Position is 5 YOE PM and Program Manager (i have 5.5 YOE in both). My spouse feels 150K is reasonable. I’m at 125k rn. Thoughts?
Thoughts on vacations: is it unrealistic to be left alone while you’re on vacation, even if it’s planned well in advance? Starting to feel like time away is impossible & slowly creeping into burnout
Anyone here work at Wayfair? What do you think of the child trafficking blow up happening right now? Search #wayfair hashtag on Twitter if you haven't heard. At this point, we only have Wayfair saying this is ridiculous, but obviously this can't be a coincidence...

PwC peeps: I have over 135% utilization. Has anybody used G&A code instead of the vacation code? Since I don't see that I'll be on the bench anytime soon and that 30% has to go somewhere. Tips, ideas?
I'm a tech consultant with 1 YOE. Im wondering if I should trade my current job: 80k TC, fully remote, ~45 hrs/week, fantastic company and team, and really fun projects, for a new opportunity: 125k TC, 100% in person, ~60 hrs/week, unknown team and company dynamics? Im leaning toward staying, because I really do love where I am, but thats life changing money! Any advice is appreciated!
I need to get my IUD removed and replaced sometime in the next 6 weeks. I travel so I would need to ask for a remote day or week. How should I bring this up to my manager? I have an all male team.
Under normal circumstances (I.e. pre Covid), is it much harder to get sponsored for actually academic courses like MA or MPhil as opposed to MBAs? People might say those are not as relevant as MBAs to business, but MBAs don’t strike me as anything particularly vocational either.
Maybe off-topic, but I’ve got a question related to taxes and withholding. 2020 was the first year that both me and my wife made full salaries in our high-paying jobs (she’s a pharmacist, I’m in consulting). We don’t do anything out of the ordinary to reduce our taxes, we just put ~ 6% each towards our 401k’s. No house or kids so our other deductions are limited. Just started doing taxes and got a shock that we owe big. Any others in this situation? Do you just withhold a ton extra on W4?
