How much of your PTO will expire on 12/31?
For the past month our house has been in a constant state of quarantine (kids under five) and now stomach flu has hit. My hours suck and I’m exhausted. I truly enjoy my job but life keeps getting in the way! I’ll be lucky if I hit 120 hours this month…can I take a vacation?
I got a verbal offer from a company almost 3 months ago now. But due to it being close to the holidays, and having to schedule meetings with hiring managers (to join a team) around their PTO and the holidays, the timeline’s been looking kinda wonky. I got to talk to a manager a bit before Christmas time. I’ve emailed the recruiter who’s supposed to be letting me know of next steps a few times now since the new year, but it feels like she’s ghosting me. What should I do? I’m getting super anxious
Do you all check/reply your emails even when you take some time off/are off sick? I feel like I live in constant FOMO. Like something super important/urgent is going to happen even if I don’t have any trials or Ct deadlines coming up. If you do, how do you switch off?
In need of advice- my friends have excluded me a few times claiming "they know I have work". I've told them outside of jan-march I have unlimited PTO. They all went on a road trip this weekend and didn't tell me. Should I tell them that it's hurtful, let it go, or ghost them? We've been friends since 8th grade but this has been a reoccurring theme for the past few years.
Would you leave before busy season if you get an offer in December before the holiday break or would you negotiate your start date to try to stay through the busy season (6 weeks) due to staff shortages? I feel like I’m fucking my team over but also am so over audit and all the hours/work they’re giving me due to staff shortages.
Can someone please explain the rules/laws underpinning the need to go on a 'tax holiday' while on a long term project? EY does not have a mobility team like other firms that provides employees advice.
Does your firm make allowances to billable hours for PTO/sick leave? Every firm I’ve been to has been “billing 9-12 hours a day until you make up the deficit.” That shit ain’t right, but curious if others have a different experience.
Preping up for aws data analytics speciality exam. Going through udemy course for prep. Any exam practice cheats heats or typical topics I need to focus on. Exam in 3 weeks and I have 2 weeks vacation to prep
So has anyone decorated their door or room for the holidays? We have a contest at our school - My room will lose to the guy with the real tree and working fireplace, but I think it turned out pretty well. Does anyone have some holiday decor they’d like to share?
What is good vacation spot for end of December?
I’m accepting a job offer tomorrow, and the new company has 5 less PTO days per year than my current company, and it’s prorated based on my start date. I have my full year planned out with my current PTO schedule, and the majority of my PTO is in the latter half of my year (1 week vacation, 3 days for sisters bachelorette party, 2 days for 2 separate wedding out of town). We already negotiated, and I feel bad going back to ask for more PTO, but I need it. What would you do? How to approach?

I recently spoke with a recruiter about a position I had previously interviewed and when I asked about Salary she let me know it was against their company policy to share a salary range and I had to tell them what my range was.. is this a thing I missed or was she lying?
Does anyone from Alvarez and Marsal have any TC info for first year analysts as well as analyst salary progression? Curious about what base and bonus have looked like in the past, specifically for the healthcare group (HIG). Also interested in seeing what comp for other A&M groups look like for analysts.

Experiences on switching departments? I’m a mid level AD thinking that I would fit better a strategy team. But start over and be a junior again? Get a lower salary? 🙄 Would love to hear some stories 🙏🏻
Has anyone jumped from Big 4 Advisory to Tier 1 Consulting firms (e.g. MBB). Was the jump at the same, higher or lower level?
I would go to the Philippines 🇵🇭 for 3 weeks at a time. I was up till 3 AM on an average night🌙 Weekends I wasn’t able to relax. It took over, all of me. Today, I restructured my company and made it lean enough to where that’s in the past. I owe all of my success to my WIFE. It’s because of her that I was able to re-create the company in this way. It’s because of her that I am on this track today. As my Grandfather used to say, “A Supportive Wife will get you Everything in
Starting to travel again for clients. What’s the comfiest/best work wear for traveling and client site during summer?
I left a boutique consulting company because I felt under utilized. Joined a larger supposedly hip consultancy with local market model with great expectations and am finding myself let down by the experience - the client, work, teamwork and collaboration, technical content is not per what was promised and feels like I am back to my b4 days. I was a fool to fall for the kumbaya in consulting crap - I am best developing products with great teams. Industry looks down on me. What are my options?

Help!! I got an job offer from a fund company doing management company fund accounting and I accepted it because the boss seems nice. I did not negotiate for the compensation. The same day, Goldman Sachs called for the interview for internal audit asset management. I don’t think I will be selected but i still did the interview. I got the call again saying they can give the offer. How should I choose? I don’t know what I like.
Experienced Hire, 2 YOE at Big 4 and 6 YOE total (non profit work pre-consulting). Final rounds at BCG. If I receive an offer, is it likelier that I’d come in as a Consultant or Sr. Associate? I had assumed the former but read about some EH receiving Sr. Associate offers instead, so curious about factors that go into this decision making Boston Consulting Group
I’ve been wanting to move to SoCal for awhile and now that my job is remote I’m able to. I’m trying to decide between LA, OC, or San Diego. Which would be best for a single straight 28M. I love sports, hiking, anything outdoors, occasional bar hopping, and winter sports (not ideal in SoCal, I know). Which is best for my career and dating as well?

Anyone here have a recruiter reach out about a job where you don’t meet YOE requirement but end up getting the job? I have ~2.5 YOE and have initial discussion for a role that states minimum 5 YOE. Also understood I need to get offer first. Just looking to hear others experiences.
